Background

This Is That Productions (it's also known as This is that Corporation) was an American production company founded in 2002 by Ted Hope, Anne Carey, Anthony Bergman, and Diana Victor after they left Good Machine Productions. They specialize in producing independent films for film festivals. The company shut its doors in 2012 after releasing The American and Super.

Logo (March 19, 2004-June 18, 2011)

Visuals: There are five different print logo variants, all consisting of a crude drawing of a picture frame with a log donning a fedora. There is an object pointing at the log. No company name appears. These consist of:

  • Logo 1: A crude drawing of a guy with a speech bubble saying “This?”, with the log and a tire inside.
  • Logo 2: A baby pointing at the log.
  • Logo 3: A monkey with a speech bubble saying “This?” staring at the log.
  • Logo 4: (What looks like a possum or squirrel) with a speech bubble saying “This?” There is also a crudely drawn arrow pointing at the log.
  • Logo 5: A drawing of a smiling bald guy pointing at the log that he’s holding in his right hand.

Variants:

  • At the beginning of Super (2010), a custom on-screen logo exists. It’s basically the fifth variant, but it takes up the entire screen and it’s on a silver background.

Technique: A still, hand-drawn graphic.

Audio: None, or the closing theme of the movie.

Availability: It was seen at the end of most films from the company like Eternal Sunshine of Spotless Mind, A Dirty Shame and Carriers, typically scrolling up within the credits.
