Background

The Landsburg Company was Alan Landsburg's second (and last) production company, established in 1985 after he left his former production company that same year. It closed in 2001 with Landsburg's retirement. Landsburg died on August 14th, 2014.

Logo (1985-May 13, 2001)

Nickname: "TLC"

Logo: On a black background, we see a stylized, metallic light blue "TLC" zooming in and under the "T" is

THE----------
LANDSBURG
COMPANY--

Depending on the production, the logo appears in four different ways:

  • The logo quickly swings downward from the top or upward from the bottom.
  • The logo pops up from below.
  • The logo swings downward at the bottom, then upward, stretching to form in the process, similar to the second way.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the text fades in below.
  • There is also a still variant of this logo.
  • A B&W variant exists

FX/SFX: The logo revealing upward, downward, or none.

Music/Sounds: A five note ascending synth tune, with a tambourine on the last note. In most cases, the closing theme of the TV movie, a soundbite, a CBS generic theme, or none. Nightmare in Columbia County has a low three-note synth piano theme.

Availability: Uncommon. It is preserved at the end of every Landsburg production, typically followed by the CBS Television Distribution logo. Seen for example on A Triumph of the Heart: The Ricky Bell Story.
