Background

The Jon Blair Film Company (also known as Jon Blair Films) is a British television production company owned by Jon Blair. Blair originally worked for Spitting Image Productions before leaving two years later to expand this company.

Logo (August 2, 1991-)

Visuals: Against a white background, several multi-colored pastel strokes appear and form a stylized tightrope walker stick figure. The rope, in a transparent grey color, fades in after the figure is formed. The balance stick is violet, the figure's torso is blue and its body is split in two with its bottom nearly facing the screen. Underneath it, the company name, additional in-credit text, and the copyright notice in a normal blue font fades in below.

Variants:

  • In its earliest appearance, the animation sequence is within a vertical box with blurry edges. In contrast to the background of the logo, the sequence is in a slightly darker shade of white.
  • On the Perspectives episode "The Pitmen Painters", the Wild Pictures logo appears within this logo.

Technique: Oil pastel animation.

Audio: The ending theme of the programme.

Availability: The company has produced little content since the 90's and most of their output, those being from the late 80's to early 90's, feature in-credit text instead of an on-screen logo. The logo made its first appearance on Packet of Three and later appeared on Anne Frank Remembered and Dancing with the Devil. DVD releases of said movies has this logo intact, most notably the 25th Anniversary blu-ray of the former film.
