Background

TalonSoft was a wargame publisher based in Baltimore, created in 1995 by Jim Rose from Avalon Hill. They were acquired and merged into Take-Two Interactive Software in 2000, but the brand was dragged idle until it was dissolved in 2005. Matrix Games acquired rights for TalonSoft's games that year.

1st Logo (1995-1997)

Visuals: There is a blue spot on a black background, where an iron eagle is drawn in a landing pose. Under it, the word "TALON" appears in multicolor (red-white-blue) with "SOFT" below.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: It was seen on the Battleground series.

2nd Logo (1997-2005)

Visuals: An iron eagle figure is seen zooming, with a blue square flipping vertically behind it, then they join and zoom out together. The word "TALONSOFT" appears below, colored in the same colors as before, and expanding over the square's borders.

Variants:

  • A still version exists.
  • The later version has the name in white, which expands to the box's borders.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: A synth music note.

Availability: Seen on various wargame titles published at that time. The multicolored version appeared on Jagged Alliance 2. The later version usually came up still on later games.
