Background

TSR Inc. was a game publishing company and the publisher of the Dungeons & Dragons games. The company began publishing board, card and dice games during their lifetime through the 70's-90's. The company went defunct in 1997, due to property and lawsuit problems, and was succeeded by Wizards of the Coast later. While the company was defunct, the brand of TSR was still used for video games based from the Dungeons & Dragons franchise. In 2012, a new company called TSR Games was formed, with former employees from the original TSR, to distribute the Gygax Magazine.

Logo (December 21, 1998-June 29, 2000)

Visuals: The eye of a red dragon opens. There's a red light illuminating it. The dragon gets far from the camera, and the left eye is revealed. Both of its eyes are seen glowing in orange. Then the dragon's face gets near to the camera, and changes into an angry expression. The face of the dragon then gets far again, revealing most of its face, as it begins to let a roar and throw fire directly into the screen. Once the fire engulfs the screen, the TSR logo is revealed, consisting of a shiny circle with a shield border, the letters T and R, and a dragon which is forming the S of the name. The fire disappears, but more fire appears behind the logo as the red, white and yellow colors of it begin to be revealed.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The sounds of the dragon and fire, with a dramatic fanfare when the logo is revealed.

Availability: This can be seen on the original editions of Planescape: Torment, Baldur's Gate, and Icewind Dale.
