Background

Wizards of the Coast is a publisher of board, trading card and dice games, mostly based on fantasy and science fiction. The company was formed in 1990 as an operator of retail stores, and later evolved into the current game publishing status. The company popularized the Magic: The Gathering TCG, acquired the Dungeons & Dragons franchise, and licensed the Pokémon Trading Card Game for US sale. A few Wizards of the Coast products have been adapted for video game productions including Planescape: Torment (under the TSR brand) and Icewind Dale. The company was acquired by Hasbro in 1999.

Logo (1999-2000s)

Visuals: On a black background is the Wizards of the Coast logo from the time seen inside a white oval with a bold black/purple border. On the border of the oval there's "OFFICIAL" above and "LICENSED PRODUCT" below.

Variant: There's also a white background variant, with the logo more zoomed in to the screen.

Technique: Fading effects.

Audio: An ascending synth theme.

Audio Variant: On the Neverwinter Nights and Neverwinter Nights 2 games, the logo used a dramatic fanfare.

Availability: Can be seen on Icewind Dale as well as its sequel Icewind Dale II. The white background variant is seen on Neverwinter Nights.
