Background

TSG Entertainment Finance LLC (mainly known as TSG Entertainment) is a financing/production company co-owned by The Seelig Group, Bona Film Group and Magnetar Capital, that funds live action movies for 20th Century Studios and Searchlight Pictures. though they finance animated films as well, the first of them being Ron's Gone Wrong in 2021. It was founded after Dune Entertainment went to Warner Bros. and later rebranded as RatPac Entertainment, after the U. S. release of Parental Guidance. It's first production was A Good Day to Die Hard, but didn't have an official logo until late 2013.

TSG Entertainment

(December 25, 2013- )

Nicknames: "Odysseus", "The Archer"

Logo: On a black background (possibly a room), a gold colored man (Odysseus), picks up a bow and arrow and shoots it through 12 golden axe heads. The view pulls back to show the golden words "TSG ENTERTAINMENT" with entertainment below in smaller letters on the side and the logo inside a gold rectangle.

Trivia: The logo makes reference to the challenge proposed by Penelope: she went to the suitors and told them that whoever could string Odysseus's bow and shoot an arrow through 12 axe-handles would marry her. The man uses its bow and shoots the arrow through the axes, so he could marry her.

Variants:

  • On The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (the first film to use this logo), the logo looks more golden.
  • On Logan: Noir Edition and The Greatest Showman, the logo is in black and white. On the latter, the logo plays at warp speed.
  • On Jojo Rabbit, the finished product of the logo is still.

FX/SFX: The man shooting the arrow. Nice animation.

Music/Sounds: A triumphant sounding fanfare, just a sound of an arrow, or the opening theme of the movie.

Availability: Seen on films from the company, such as The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, The Greatest Showman, Underwater, The Call of the Wild (2020), Downhill, and Ron's Gone Wrong, among others. Some films like Free Guy don't have this logo, just an end credits notice.

Editor's Note: None.
