Background

Radar Pictures was founded in 1999 on the basement of Interscope Communications.

1st Logo (November 1, 2002- )


Logo: On an orange background we see six black ovals fly and zoom into the screen. Three of them disappear, but another three remain. The background shrinks to even bigger oval banner, where the previous three put in, and the black word "radar" appear inside on the right spot. The word "pictures" also appears next, on the black background, colored orange.

Variants:

  • The logo was redone for newest films with the red glow behind.
  • At the end of films starting with How to Deal the logo is red with the text "radar pictures" in white.
  • On Waist Deep the print version is used at the end.
  • On The Wheel of Time the logos is in a white background with the oval in orange and "radar in white with the word "pictures" in black.

FX/SFX: The rings moving and zooming out.

Music/Sounds: The opening theme of the movie.

Availability: It first appeared on They. The enhanced version was first seen on How to Deal and later appeared on The Invention of Lying and Beirut. Don't expect this to appear on Jumanji: The Next Level despite Field being involved.

2nd Logo (October 17, 2003-September 2, 2016)

Logo: On a black background, several red rings move towards the screen and then to the left center of the screen to form the circle emblem, which contains black rings and red rings The word "radar" from before forms on the right tip of the circle, and the word "pictures" forms just to the right.

Variant:

  • On The Box and the trailer for Everybody's Fine, the logo is in black and white.

FX/SFX: The rings moving toward the screen, the logo forming with flash effects similar to the 1978 WGBH logo and 1986 Procter & Gamble Productions logo.

Music/Sounds: None or the opening theme of the movie.

Availability: This logo made its first appearance on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Amityville Horror. It was later seen on The Box, Horsemen, All About Steve, Twelve and made it's final appearance was Kickboxer: Vengeance. Don't expect this logo to appear on Zahara: A Space Adventure, The Heartbreak Kid, Swing Vote, Spring Breakers, Riddick and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.
