Background

Phoenix Games was a European game developer and publisher. They are infamous for collaborating with the German animation studio Dingo Pictures, and featuring their films on their games, as well as producing their own slew of shovelware titles. The company was formed in 2002, and it began to develop titles for PlayStation, PlayStation 2, and Nintendo Wii.

1st Logo (2002-2010?)

Visuals: On a blue-orange gradient background, there is a blue shield containing a golden phoenix and the words "PHOENIX" above it. The shield has a golden glow around it.

Variants:

  • On Road Rage 3, King of Bowling 3, Home Run, European Tennis Pro and the PlayStation port of Paradise Casino, the logo is on a white background.
  • Since 2003, a still version of the next logo is used.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on PlayStation games produced by the company.

2nd Logo (2003-2010)

Visuals: On a black background, an orange line draws the image of the phoenix from before. Once it's complete, the logo lights up and forms a realistic depiction of the shield from the last logo. The logo is set on fire for a few seconds before it dies down.

Variant: On PlayStation games, the logo is noticably slower.

Technique: CGI, coupled with footage of fire.

Audio: A series of mellow synth notes, followed by a thud when the logo is formed. Earlier titles had the logo silent.

Availability: Seen mostly on PlayStation 2 games produced by the company, such as London Cab Challenge and the Dingo Pictures titles and some Data Design Interactive games like Habitrail Hamster Ball.
