Background

Optomen Television was a British television production company that was founded in 1988. It was best known for Police, Camera, Action!. It operated two subsidiaries, One Potato, Two Potato and Optomen Productions, Inc., the U.S. production division. In 2010, it was sold to All3Media.

1st Logo (September 24, 1993-August 16, 2006)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a red scribble drawing in, which looks like a square. Netx to it, there's the text "optomen television" in a Times New Roman font. Above it, there's "An" while below, "Production".

Variants:

  • In later years, the text reads "optomen" instead, in the same serif font.
  • Sometimes, the logo is in-credit.
  • Sometimes, the logo also shares with other logos or sometimes has a copyright date.
  • Sometimes, the logo is still.
  • On To Kill and Kill Again, the background is white.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: The ending theme of the programme or none.

Availability: Appears on Police Camera Action!, Two Fat Ladies, The Naked Chef, and the first three seasons of Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, among others.

2nd Logo (November 4, 2006-)


Visuals: On a black background, the neon pink word "optomen" glows in, and then the logo dims.

Bylines: Starting in 2010, a company byline appears below:

  • 2010-2013: "an ALL3MEDIA company"
  • 2013-2021: "anall3mediacompany"
  • 2021-: "An All3Media Company"

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the logo is in-credit.
  • Sometimes, the logo also shares the screen with other logos, and sometimes a copyright date.
  • On One Bad Choice, the byline is larger.
  • On shows co-produced with One Potato, Two Potato, the logo is in white.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: A buzzing sound, the ending theme of the programme or none.

Audio Variant: In 2008, a buzzing sound is slightly different.

Availability: Appears on seasons 4 and 5 of Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares (including the U.S. version), Police Camera Action!, Great British Menu, The F Word and other shows.
