Named after the Nova Scotian city of the same name, '''Halifax Film''' was a company that was founded in 2004. In 2006, Halifax Film merged with [[Decode Entertainment (Canada)|Decode Entertainment]] to form [[WildBrain (Canada)|DHX Media]]. The two companies continued until September 2010, when all divisions of DHX were renamed to their parent company's name.

Background

In November 2018, as part of a series of restructurations within the company, DHX Media sold its Halifax animation studio (the ex-Halifax Film) to IoM Media Ventures, a company led by former DHX CEO Dana Landry renaming the studio as Island of Misfits.

Logo (October 6, 2020-)

Visuals: In a beach setting, a purple wooden box lays on some sand. The box shakes abruptly and rapidly while lights glow on the box. The lights then form the letters "i" and "m" on the box (bearing a striking resemblance to HIT Entertainment) while the letters let out some lights. Then the box drops and a metal spring containing a purple joker's hat with three bells pops out from the top of the box like a surprise box out of an "O" and "Island of Misfits" fades in next to it with "IoM Media Ventures Inc." in the same font fading in on the bottom.

Variant: An in-credit version exists, where it's in print form, the spring does not connect to the box, and the bells are replaced with simple detail circles.

Technique: CGI animation.

Audio: A metal drone sound, with a screeching sound and sounds of shaking, followed by a 'pop' noise and a 5-note ukulele tune. The in-credit version has the closing theme instead.

Availability: It was first seen on newer seasons of Charlie's Colorforms City on Netflix, plastering the DHX Media logo, and Season 28 of This Hour Has 22 Minutes. The in-credit version so far was seen on Caillou: Rosie the Giant. It will likely be used in tandem with the WildBrain logo for newer Halifax Film productions.
