1st Logo (September 23-December 16, 1988)

A
HAT TRICK
PRODUCTION
FOR CHANNEL FOUR

The byline can be seen below the text.

Variant: On the TV show This is David Lander, after the credits sequence is finished, a panel that contains videos played during the credits flips to this logo.

Technique: A combination of computer animation and computer effects.

Audio: The end theme plays while this disclaimer is shown.

Availability: Can be seen on series 1 episodes of the UK version of Whose Line is it Anyway? as well as This is David Lander.

2nd Logo (August 5, 1998- )

Visuals: On a purple and black gradient background, there is a drawing of a rabbit pulling a man of a hat (instead of a man pulling a rabbit out of his hat) with "HAT TRICK" in black (or in white on a black rectangle), then gives a "Ta-Da!" like pose. He then face his right, away from the viewers, and put his left hand on his hip.

Variants:

  • An early version of the logo exists, where the text and rectangle are completely absent, the background is a dark-to-light grey gradient, the illustration of the rabbit and the hat is slightly different and the logo casts a shadow on the ground. There is also no animation whatsoever.
  • A still logo with the rabbit is just holding the man and not doing said pose also exists.
  • Starting in 2020, the background is slightly darker.
  • On the American version of Whose Line is it Anyway?, the words "in association with" is added at the bottom.
  • Sometimes, it also shares the screen with other logos (including the 1997 BBC and 2013 ITV logos).
  • Both a still and in-credit version also exists.
    • The latter version may also have a slight shade (either tinted black or purple) on the top corner.
  • On William of Orangedale, the word "NORTHERN IRELAND" appears underneath the logo.
  • On Bike Squad, the logo is placed on a gradient purple background.
  • On Power Monkeys, the logo is cropped and seen as an in-credit logo.

Technique: Traditional hand-drawn animation by The Morris Studio. More info can be seen on their website here.

Audio: The closing theme of the show or none. ABC, CBS and The CW airings played their generic themes.
