Background

Ginger Productions is a television production company founded in 1994 that focuses on entertainment and factual programmes. Their best known programmes include TFI Friday and Jack Osbourne: Adrenaline Junkie.



1st Logo (February 9, 1994-July 31, 2001)

Visuals: On a red fabric surface, there is a pair of glasses. Underneath, the wacky text "ginger Television Productions LTD (c) ginger television productions ltd (year)" fades in and after a few seconds, a light sparkles on the glasses.

Variants:

  • From 1998 to 2000, the logo was redesigned where "ginger" is white with a blue shadow, "television" is inside a blue box and the copyright notice is orange and without a shadow.
  • On Chris Evans Meets The Rolling Stones, the logo is black and white.
  • On Making Snatch, the logo is smaller where the copyright notice was removed and the text underneath reads "For Columbia TriStar Film Distributors International ©2000 Columbia Pictures".
  • On Lock Stock..., the logo is like before but with the full shot of the logo shown and is to the right of the SKA Films logo.
  • On The Real Shirley Bassey and One Man and His Hob, the logo is inside a box and the text was altered where "ginger" is orange with a white shadow and the byline "an SMG Television Company" is shown underneath. The Real Shirley Bassey variant also shares the screen with the 1999 Channel 4 Square logo.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: A cat call whistle and then a ding.

Audio Variants:

  • On the first series of Don't Forget Your Toothbrush, the ding was missing.
  • Sometimes, the ending bit of the programme plays over the logo before the cat call is heard.
  • On One Man and His Hob, the ending theme of the programme plays over the logo.

  • Can be seen on Don't Forget Your Tootbrush, the original run of TFI Friday, Lock Stock..., The Real Shirley Bassey and One Man and His Hob.

2nd Logo (March 20, 2002-2006)

Visuals: On an orange background patterned with swirls, a blob in a lighter shade of said colors pops up followed by the text from before letter by letter initially without the dots surrounding the "n" and "e". When "television productions" pops up underneath, aforementioned letters gain their dots.

Variants:

  • Programmes co-produced with Channel 5 consists of just the print logo but with "ginger" in orange with a black shadow.
  • On original airings of ITV co-produced programmes, the on-screen logo is shown in an split-screen format.
  • On Extreme Celebrity Detox, the logo is boxed.

Audio: The ending theme of the programme.

Availability: Can be seen on Cannibals and Crampoons, which was its first appearance, Don't Drop the Coffin, Jack Osbourne: Adrenaline Junkie, Extreme Celebrity Detox, A Tribute to The Likely Lads, among others.

3rd Logo (2006-October 4, 2010)

Visuals: There is stylized, curvy text reading "ginger" with "productions" to the top right of it.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: The ending theme of the programme.

Availability: It has so far only been seen on Crucify Me and Pink Saris.
