We are currently considering a big step in ensuring AVID’s continued success and viability. Would you support an AVID Patreon if we were to open one?

AVID Patreon? I don't know man, I found it a bit boring, it's worth noting that the majority of members are between 13 and 15, because Patreon is a site created to make your own subscriptions, and you should be using those aged 18 or over. And also since the Wiki is dedicated to logos, in my opinion, a logo wiki on a Patreon is kind of bizarre. And just to ask, I was the one who voted no.

I don't have money. That's why I said no, but I do feel like a patron could be good, if done right. No content limitations though.

For what it's worth, we are also exploring and open to other options like Ko-fi which provides an option to donate as a one off if desired, rather than a monthly donation. This would also mean we get more of the money donated as Ko-fi takes less of a cut than Patreon does.

In any event it is heartening to see the amount of support for this both here and on the server. If that support is even close to being reflected in actual numbers if and when we get this going, whatever platform we choose, we should have no trouble ensuring that AVID continues to thrive going forward.

EDIT: Oh, cool the role flags seem to be fixed

UPDATE: Good idea! However, please don't limit AVID content. Patron locks will drive users away. However, a donation tier for support is a good idea, especially because we will have to support our own WikiForge hosting.

Just make it more of a donation thing instead of a locked-tier thing that almost every patreon-supporting websites do, meaning that this site is open to donations while remaining all the features for free.

And yes, I'll be paying if only I wasn't so broke 😂

We would never, ever paywall any of our content or features. AVID is free to use and always will be. Donating is strictly voluntary to help us out.

Excellent points. For this reason, plus not having to give up as much of a cu, I'm personally leaning more towards Ko-fi than Patreon. Plus, it seems to fit our use case far more.
