Electronic Arts/Logo Variations
This article covers logos that contain graphic violence or gore. They are hidden behind spoilers. |
These are the logo variations seen throughout the years by Electronic Arts, with more to be added overtime.
Electronic Arts
U.S. Navy Fighters (1994): The logo animates as usual, but with a whoosh, ending with a very loud explosion sound.
Michael Jordan: Chaos in the Windy City (1994): The logo (without the circle) fades in. A basketball drops down with Michael Jordan's signature in it. The ball morphs into the circle in the EA logo, and the "ELECTRONIC ARTS" text fades in.
Viewpoint (1995, PS1): The background is a space background. Then the 3D circle zooms through as we pan through the space. Then the light rays swipe through the circle to make the lines appear on the circle. Then it zooms out and the 3D Square and the 3D Triangle shapes (with lines intact), appear from left and right respectively forming the logo. Then "ELECTRONIC ARTS" appear in the game's font appears through the burning effect. Then the text dissolves. Then the camera moves through as the 3D Square leaves the screen while the Circle moves onto the Triangle while the text zooms out through the burning effect this time reading "HIGH SCORE ENTERTAINMENT" (see here), appears while the Circle turns and glows yellow. Then the circle explodes as the text dissolves causing a hole in the triangle to appear. Then it slowly turns upside down and turns gray, becoming the Visual Concepts logo while "VISUAL CONCEPTS" (see here), appears through the burning effect forming the logo. Then the text rotates up and dissolves through fire. Then the VC logo zooms out as the games title zooms out turning with the light ray effect, making its position into the center as the light rays dim out. Then it fades into the opening intro of the game.
Extreme Pinball (1995), Fire Fight (1996): and Overblood (1997, PS1) The logo is shown on top along with the High Score Productions logo on the bottom.
Need for Speed 2 (1997, PS1): A teal EA logo with gray text is seen zooming in, with five light spots on the floor. Car noises are also heard in the background.
Beasts and Bumpkins (1997): The logo blurs in against a black background, followed by the "ELECTRONIC ARTS" text shining in.
Auto Destruct (1998): The sounds have a lower pitch.
ReBoot and Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit (both 1998): A different sounder consisting of a descending series of computer blips followed by a synth stab is heard.
Diablo (1998, PS1): A distorted computerized synth screech is heard.
Future Cop: L.A.P.D. (1998, PS1): Police sounds are heard, with a different Electronic Arts voice.
Need for Speed: High Stakes, WCW Mayhem (both 1999) and WCW Backstage Assault (2000): A different sound is heard and a female announcer replaces the male one.
Sled Storm (1999): The logo is slowed down.
Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed (2000): Racing car sounds are heard.
Medal of Honor: Underground (2000), Medal of Honor: Allied Assault and Medal of Honor: Frontline (both 2002): An explosion is heard in place of the ding.
American McGee's Alice (2000, PC): The logo bursts into flames, and we briefly see Cheshire Cat's face as the logo fades out.
Clive Barker's Undying (2001): The logo fades into the Moon, then spins into a red symbol.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's/Sorcerer's Stone (2001, PS1): The logo appears on a black background instead of a white one.
Rumble Racing (2001): The logo is already formed, but after a few seconds the circle spins really fast like the wheel of a car and rotates to the right while creating smoke.
Desert Strike Advance (2002): The logo is still, larger than normal, and the circle is removed.
Sid Meier's SimGolf (2002): The logo appears through some clouds.
Command and Conquer: Renegade (2002): The logo fades into a reflection of the Moon.
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002): The titular golden ring appears in a fire and rotates, transforming into the logo.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004, GBA): The logo is still and lies on a parchment.
Def Jam: Fight for NY (2004): D-Mob, a character from the game, says "Challenge Everything" in place of the whisper boy.
Medal of Honor: European Assault (2005): The logo starts off normally, but just before we hear "Challenge Everything", the logo turns black & white and the quality deteriorates, much like a 1940s style movie.
Black (2006): The logo is pale gold-tinted with interlacing.
Battlefield 2142 (2006): A walking robot comes into view and shoots at the camera, with a silver and pine green version of the Electronic Arts logo appearing after a few seconds. The EA byline appears below.
The Sims series/SimCity Societies/MySims series/SimAnimals (2006-2013): The shield has a blue outline and white letters, while the surface is gradient green. A green emerald (also known as a Plumbob in game) shines above the logo. It animates in a similar way as their "Challenge Everything" logo.
- The first Sims game to use this logo was The Sims 2: Glamour Life Stuff and the last one being The Sims 3: Into the Future.
- Until The Sims 2: Freetime, the logo had the "EA is an Electronic Arts brand." byline.
- The version used on SimCity Societies lacks the PlumBob part, so the logo fades out after the logo's music.
- SimAnimals and SimAnimals Africa have the logo on a white background.
Medal of Honor: Heroes (2006): The logo is a military badge with six stars on the top and bottom of the badge. It has the EA byline below.
Superman Returns (2006):
- Console versions: The logo is a red outline created with red sparks. The EA byline fades in below the logo.
- DS version: The logo is coral red with the "EA" in yellow, and it has the byline below it.
Harry Potter - Order of the Phoenix (2007) and The Half-Blood Prince (2009): The logo is turquoise (or blue) with silver letters and outline and an emboss effect.
Theme Park (2007, DS): The logo is a red balloon. A copyright date appears below.
Boogie (2007): The logo is relief with a gray outline and white letters on a red starfield.
Skate (2007): The logo is put on a paper sheet background, and the circle resembles a trace left by a drink cup.
Command & Conquer: Tiberium Wars (2007): A green light slowly emerges from the darkness, gradually revealing a silver version of the Electronic Arts logo. Crystals of tiberium can be seen as well. The circle then collapses around the logo.
Need for Speed: ProStreet (2007): The logo is formed by a spinning wheel, which turns into a silver circle. It then goes to the game's safe driving disclaimer, where the wheel is actually placed onto a modified Mazda RX-7.
Hellgate: London (2007): The logo is brownish-orange on a red background, and is surrounded by a red circle of runes.
Medal of Honor: Vanguard (2007): The logo is formed in a storm cloud, and lightning flashes behind it. The EA byline appears below.
Medal of Honor: Airborne (2007): There is close-ups of a gray colored Electronic Arts logo, with some war pictures in the background. It is then shown in full view, revealing the logo as a carving on a grey stone background. The camera then zooms into the logo.
Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 (2007): The logo is made of stone and appears on a dark sky background, with the sounds of a warfare being heard. Some fire traces can be seen and after a few seconds, the screen trembles (as it could be near missile explosions).
Orcs & Elves (2007, DS): The logo takes the form of a gold coin. A pile of coins can also be seen in the background.
Bartender (2007, Japan): The logo is a neon sign, with the circle in blue and the "EA" in pink.
Dragon Zakura (2007, DS): The logo is pink with the inside of the shield in light blue, and various pink blossoms surround the "EA".
EA Playground (2007):
- DS version: The logo is on a sky blue background. The border is aquamarine, the inside of the shield features a landscape, and the "EA" is lavender. Purple splashes surround the shield.
- Wii version: The logo, in an orange color, pops up on a blue background, followed by some cartoon clouds.
SimCity (2007, DS): The "EA" has a golden relief texture, and the shield is blue with the inside in lilac.
Sommelier (2007, DS): The logo appears as a red seal.
Pogo Island (2007, DS): The logo is intense blue, and the EA byline fades in below.
Smarty Pants (2007): The logo is light blue with a dark blue border, and is on a light blue background. The inside of the shield looks like a bubble.
Crysis (2007) and Crysis: Warhead (2008): The logo is a silver plate with six red lamps on its edge. They light on, then the center of the logo also lights up in a red color.
Dead Space (2008): Blood drops fly over a star background, and a light appears a few seconds later, revealing the Electronic Arts logo in black.
Mirror's Edge (2008): A red version of the EA logo is on a white background and is on the print of Faith's shoes, which fades out, leaving the logo intact.
Mass Effect (2008): The logo is blue on a dark blue background, and a light shines from the center of the logo.
Boom Blox (2008): The logo is attached to a blue cube on a white background. The letters and circle are black.
Nerf N-Strike: The Video Game (2008): The logo is orange with four sticks making it similar to the target. This also happens in Nerf N-Strike Elite. The "EA" is colored reddish-orange.
Ninja Reflex (2008, DS): The logo is yellow-orange with a picture of a katana, and the "EA" is white with a thick black border.
Army of Two (2008): The background is dark blue, and the logo is silver with some order elements attached to the bottom.
Mercenaries 2: World in Flames (2008): The logo features a tattoo-like texture and is drawn on a sheet of sepia paper.
On the PS2 version, the logo is still, larger and on a black background.
Battlefield: Bad Company (2008): There is a grenade bouncing on the floor, having a yellow badge attached to it. The badge has a smiley face on one side and the EA logo with black letters on the other side. Then we proceed to the DICE logo.
Skate It (2008): There is a filmstrip moving, showing the ruins of a city, and then an old, faded out and burned out version of the logo (in a yellow color) appears. The letters are dark red.
Boogie Superstar (2008): The logo is purple and it glows.
Brain Quest (2008): The inside of the shield is dark blue and the background is light blue. A copyright date appears below.
Littlest Pet Shop (2008): The logo is pale pink with the inside in dark blue, and is put upon a gradient sky backdrop.
- For the DS version, the logo is still.
- For the Wii version, a steamroller appears, with steam emerging from its top. The steam then transforms into the logo.
Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath (2008): Glowing red segments of a scorpion tail gradually appear one-by-one. The shield, in orange with a red interior then appears, followed by the "EA" text in silver.
Spore (2008): The logo is white with blue letters, and appears over a starfield. It explodes and turns into a vortex.
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 (2008): The logo is red and zooms out through a red map of the world. A hammer and sickle are seen inside, surrounded by moving rays. The "EA" text is made out of gold.
Populous (2008, DS): The shield is replaced by a wooden wheel.
Spore Creatures (2008, DS): The shield is solid white, and the text is blue.
Travel Games for Dummies (2008, DS): The logo is yellow and its edges look chipped.
Need for Speed: Undercover (2008): The logo's circle is revealed from shadowy lights and mist.
Burnout Paradise (2008): The logo smashes into the screen, then after two seconds, the circle bursts into flames. Suddenly after that, a silver circle with the game's setting (Paradise City) and the Illuminati in it appears. When that happens, two silver ribbons, one on each side draw themselves in a black fancy font, Paradise City draws itself in, while we see blood splatters at the back of the logo. We then hear the sounds of a car starting (which is actually from two cars in the game, the Nakamura Ikusa GT and the Jansen P12). The logo then zooms in quickly.
Skate 2 (2009): In a kind of screen, parts of the orange logo come and form a distorted shield, which then becomes straight. It then changes colors to red before getting out.
The Godfather II (2009): On a white background, the screen pans down as there are many blood splatters and among them is the EA logo in blood red with the letters in white. The camera continues moving down and blood oozes from the logo.
Need for Speed: Shift (2009): Depends on the version.
Consoles: The Need for Speed: Prostreet variation of the logo is shortened. The logo then flies off screen, transitioning to the NFS logo.
Android: The logo is black with a 3D grid behind it and it is crushed to particles clockwise.
PSP: The logo is green with green trails.
The Saboteur (2009): On a sheet of sepia paper, blood makes two lines, then a click is heard and the EA logo, in black, is sprayed onto it. The camera then pans down from the logo.
Dead Space: Extraction (2009): The logo is blue and there is a skull shadow behind (as it comes after the Visceral Games logo).
Brutal Legend (2009): The logo is a steel biker sign with the head of a scary-looking creature beneath the "EA". After a few seconds, blood is poured onto the logo.
Spore Hero (2009): A light blue version of the EA logo is on a white background, and the "EA" is more rounded than usual. A blue creature flies and bumps into the logo. It fades out, continuing to the Maxis logo.
Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure (2009, DS): The logo is on a monocle.
Hasbro Family Game Night 2 (2009): The game's logo flips to the Spore Hero variation of the Electronic Arts logo.
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009): The logo is silver, badly damaged, and shines.
Battlefield 1943 (2009): The logo is designed as a letter from Iwo Jima, with the words "NOV 16 1943" and "IWO JIMA" on it. It is in grayscale and still.
Dragon Age: Origins (2009): A knife blade slowly passes the screen to the left, leaving trails of red substance and an ink dragon following it. The dragon unleashes and flies over the screen, leaving ink that compresses into the Electronic Arts logo. This continues to the BioWare logo.
Need for Speed: Nitro (2009): The logo is black with some segments surrounding it, and the background is sprayed with green-yellow paint. Then it suddenly changes to a smaller version of the logo over a white background.
- For the DS version, the logo is still.
Zubo (2009): The logo is light blue and has a little branch attached to one of its corners.
Charm Girls Club (2009): The logo is purple, on a bouncing silver locket, and the background is psychedelic purple with stars falling in the background.
- The DS version reuses this variant, but it is still.
Shounen Oni Ninden Tsumuji (2009, DS): The logo is black/white and an orange safari background can be seen within the logo.
Scrabble (2009, DS): The logo is carved on a wooden block. A reflection can be seen on the ground, similar to Hasbro Family Game Night.
Trivial Pursuit (2009): Several colored segments form the circle, followed by the EA wordmark. Like the Hasbro Family Game Night and Scrabble variants, a reflection is visible on the ground.
Dante's Inferno (2010): A piece of red fabric and a hanging cross (which belongs to Dante, the main character) waves across the screen, then the fabric obscures the screen. The EA logo, in black, is stitched on it, and it is surrounded by some pictures. The Visceral Games variant follows a few seconds later, and the cross is shown again.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (2010): There is two overhead views of a military transport, with the "EA" wordmark partially visible. The camera pulls back to reveal the logo inside a circle on a white background, slowly zooming out.
Mass Effect 2 (2010): The logo is set on a starfield. It is moon blue with a crack, and the letters are red.
Flips (2010): The logo is beige and some yellow-brown pages appear within the shield.
Monopoly (2010, DS): The shield is red.
Rock Band, Rock Band 2, and Rock Band 3 (2007, 2008, and 2010): The logo appears on a guitar pick.
Medal of Honor (2010): The logo is black on a dark background and flying debris can be seen within the logo. Sounds of a warfare accompany this variant.
Dead Space: Ignition (2010): The logo glows over a blue spiral structure made of various dots, surrounded with two halves of a circle. It glitches, transitioning to the Visceral Games logo. The entire logo is placed on a static blue background.
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010): The logo is static white, and glitches, transitioning to the Criterion Games logo, and then to the game's logo.
On the remastered version, the logo, along with the Criterion Games and Stellar Entertainment logos flash in red and blue lights, before being fully revealed in white, before fading away, one after the other. The original sounds retain.
Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight (2010): From an overhead view, a war device lands on the ground, unfolds and reveals the Electronic Arts logo with a blue glow.
Army of Two: The 40th Day (2010): The logo is a red stamp on some kind of packing material, then it burns out.
Skate 3 (2010): The logo is formed by spinning purple rays.
Shank (2010): The logo is a brush-drawn red circle superimposed over a desert background.
DeathSpank (2010): The logo is a chipped purple plate and the "EA" is in butter yellow.
Create (2010): The logo is white with a landscape inside the shield, and is put on a black-blue gradient background. A spark lands on the logo and then proceeds to run around it while leaving various other sparks behind its path.
RISK: Factions (2010): The logo is in black-and-white and a world map is seen within the shield.
Dragon Age 2 (2010): Many crimson tentacles get sucked inside the EA logo (with the same design from Dragon Age: Origins). The logo then explodes, releasing a dragon, which flies and emerges flames, and this continues to the BioWare logo.
Dante's Inferno: An Animated Epic (2010): Same as the Dante's Inferno variant, but it is brown and the pictures on the left and right of the logo are different.
Crysis 2 (2011): The logo is a silver signal plate without lights.
Dead Space 2 (2011): On a starfield background, there is the Dead Space: Ignition variation of the EA logo.
Dead Space: Aftermath (2011): On a black background, there is the Dead Space: Ignition and Dead Space 2 variation of the EA logo, but it has a sharper structure.
Bulletstorm (2011): In a rapid first-view action, the EA logo with a grungy yellow circle zooms in towards the camera. The other logos proceed after this.
Shift 2: Unleashed (2011): The logo is metallic, transparent and is placed over a close view of asphalt.
Rango (2011): The logo has a Wild West design. It gets hit by a bullet and rolls away.
Alice: Madness Returns (2011): The logo is made of numerous wobbling chunks, colored in tones of orange.
Spy Mouse (2011, Mobile): The logo appears like a cheese.
Star Wars: The Old Republic (2011): An orange light moves from the center and reveals the logo in a golden color, with a light shining from behind.
Shadows of the Damned (2011): A ghostly green version of the EA logo is wiped over a dark, cemetry-like landscape.
Battlefield 3 (2011): The logo is blue-white and constantly flickers.
Need for Speed: The Run (2011): The logo is gold and forms over a dark background.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011): The logo is metallic and has lightning crackling over it. The background is stormy. It zooms out like the Warner Bros. Pictures variant from the film.
- For the DS version, the logo is still and the background is different.
Mass Effect 3 (2012): The logo, in orange, is revealed through a portal apparatus with the BioWare logo following it.
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (2012): The logo is made out of dark red stone on an orange hellscape background, and crumbles after a few seconds.
Syndicate (2012): The logo is made from a dotting network, with the shield in gray and the EA wordmark in orange.
Medal of Honor: Warfighter (2012): The logo looks like an explosion with a few fragments flying.
Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2012): The logo is on a white background, the EA text is black and the circle is red, as the camera zooms into a red cityscape with the Criterion Games logo and the game's logo preceding it.
Plants vs. Zombies 2 (2013-present): The logo is light brown with some plant roots around it and a flower can be seen above the "EA" wordmark.
Crysis 3 (2013): The logo is a silver signal plate with blue lights.
Dead Space 3 (2013): The logo, in a gray color, appears on a futuristic, rusted monitor. The camera slowly pans around. It fades away, and the Visceral Games variation follows afterward.
Battlefield 4 (2013): The logo glows white with a slight orange tint on a black background, with some slight static overlay. It flashes away after a moment.
Need for Speed Rivals (2013): The logo is briefly revealed on blue asphalt.
Army of Two: Devil's Cartel (2013): The logo is composed from metal parts on a sparkling background.
Fuse (2013): The logo is made of electricity with sparks and fire appearing over.
Peggle 2 (2013): The logo is embedded on a blue peg.
Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare (2014) and its sequel (2016): The logo spins in from the right on a white background. The outline is made out of grass, and the EA wordmark is orange. Then a zombie's hand appears and tries to grab the "EA" text, but some plants' roots appear. They grab the zombie's hand and pull it down, causing the logo to spin into the PopCap logo.
This was designed by Petrol Advertising. The logo was shortlisted at the 2013 Clio Entertainment Awards for audiovisual technique, but lost to the 20th Century Fox The Wolverine Japanese trailer variant.
- The game's sequel, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 reuses this variant, but the background is purple-orange instead.
Titanfall (2014): The logo is made on a piece of metal machinery, and the circle is split into three segments.
Need for Speed (2014 film adaptation): The 2006 logo is on a sepia-toned background, like the other studio logos. The logo is in scope as well.
The Sims series (2014-present): The logo zooms in on a white background with various shades of green moving inside it, matching the colors of the Plumbob. It turns white and 3D as the Maxis logo forms. The Sims 4 is the first game to use this logo.
Dragon Age: Inquisition (2014): The logo is white, placed next to the BioWare logo (also in white) and put on a thunderstorm background.
Battlefield Hardline (2015): There is various police footage, including money falling into a bag, and a watch. The logo, in grainy white, briefly appears, then flashes and vanishes. We then see more footage such as police lights, a speedometer, and a bomb about to explode, as we continue to the Visceral Games and DICE logos, then cutting to a view of a massive explosion. We then proceed to the game's title screen.
Need for Speed (2015): The logo is blue on a black background.
Star Wars: Battlefront (2015): The logo is in a metallic gold color and is seen on a black background.
Unravel (2016): The logo is red and the circle is made out of yarn.
Mirror's Edge Catalyst (2016): The logo is red on a white background again and has a copyright notice underneath it. It gets wiped away to reveal the DICE logo in the same color scheme.
Titanfall 2 (2016): The logo is light gray with a slight gradient effect on a black background.
Mass Effect: Andromeda (2017): The logo is next to the BioWare and Frostbite Engine logos, and slightly zooms in.
Need for Speed Payback (2017): The logo is black, smaller than usual, and is on a white background.
Star Wars Battlefront II (2017): The logo, in blue, is drawn from white glowing lines on a black background, with some static being visible. It glitches into the DICE logo in the same style. Copyright information is also seen at the bottom of the screen during this and the proceeding logos.
Battlefield V (2018): The logo is placed behind a layer of shattered glass, making it look misshapen. This only appears in the opening cutscene for the game's first mission, "My Country Calling", as the game itself does not feature an opening logo on startup.
Unravel 2 (2018): A sparkle appears on a black background, revealing the logo. Like the previous game, the circle is made of red yarn.
Apex Legends (2019)
- Launch / Seasons 1 & 2: On a sheet of sepia paper, the logo flashes, then returns to normal, and flashes away.
Anthem (2019): The logo is next to the Frostbite Engine logo on a black background, and is still. A small copyright notice can also be seen on the bottom right.
Need for Speed Heat (2019): The logo is really small and is on a cyan-blue-magenta gradient background.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (2019) and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (2023): The logo is drawn in white on a black background. The other logos proceed after this.
On Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the 2021 wordmark is used.
Star Wars: Squadrons (2020): The logo draws in against a purple-orange background. The camera then pans away from it.
Grid Legends (2022): The logo appears in the rain. A car then passes by, transitioning to the Codemasters logo.
Need for Speed Unbound (2022): The logo is superimposed over a background of Lakeshore, the game's setting. It glitches, showing the 1982 and 1993 logo, as well as images such as an animated skeleton, before cutting to the current one.

Dead Space (2023): The logo, in blue-white, glitches in on a black background. It glitches into the Motive Studio logo in the same style.
EA Originals
A Way Out (2018): The logo is yellow. It also blurs in and out.
It Takes Two (2021): The logo is slightly orange and appears over a dark red background.
Knockout City (2021): The logo is still on a purple background. A copyright notice can be seen below. It was later removed in 2022, when Velan Studios took the publishing role.
Wild Hearts (2023): The logo appears on a white background, and is surrounded by black and orange-pink paint. Some blossoms can be seen flying and an announcer saying the company name is heard. We then proceed to the game's logo.
Immortals of Aveum (2023): The logo is gold, and slowly zooms in. Part of it looks shattered. It fixes itself, then shines.
