Background

Channel 8 is a Cantonese-language TV channel owned by Mediacorp. It was known as the second TV channel to ever launch in Singapore and the first Cantonese-language TV channel in Singapore. Like Channel 5, Channel 8 uses idents set by their own owner, Singaporean Broadcasting Corporation until 1994.

1st Logo (mid 1995-1997/98)

Visuals: We see the red rhombus, with the "8" in gold color, all in the wood plank background. Again, the logo transitions itself to the Television Corporation of Singapore logo in a red background.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Just the voiceover in Cantonese saying "您正在观赏的是新视第8波道的节目。" ("You are now watching Channel 8").

Availability: Only appeared before programmes broadcast on the channel.

2nd Logo (1997/98-2001)

Visuals: Many situations were happened during the ident. At the end, the Chinese words and the logo appear on the left.

Variants:

  • Elevator: Several women all go inside a elevator, which closes.
  • Supermarket: Unknown.

Audio: Depending on a variant.

Availability: Same as before.

3rd Logo (2001-2011)

4th Logo (2011-2017)

5th Logo (2017-1 February 2023)

Visuals: On a pink-white gradient background, we see several circles spin, duplicating and more. The logo appears at the end.
