Background

ContentFilm was a distribution and international sales company founded in September 2002. In 2004, the company acquired and absorbed British film production and distribution company Winchester Films. In 2005, they entered TV production by acquiring Canadian television company Fireworks Entertainment from CanWest and renamed it to Fireworks International. In September 2006, they acquired the assets of American companies Sterling Entertainment Group and Allumination FilmWorks, marking an entrance into the DVD distribution market.

In March 2011, ContentFilm rebranded to Content Media Corporation with the film, television and digital brands also assuming the Content name. In 2017, it was sold to Kew Media Group and renamed to "Kew Media Distribution". Its library is now owned by Quiver Distribution, who acquired Kew Media following its collapse in 2020.
