Background

A video distributor based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Later acquired by Cineglobe in the early 1990s.

1st Logo (Early 1980s)

Visuals: On a red screen, a rainbow streak appears and after that, appears the words Cinema Plus Video. The word "presente" appears not too long after.

Technique: Scanimation effects.

Audio: A disco tune.

Availability: Can be seen on Elle voit des nains partout!, among other productions and video releases from this company during the time frame.

2nd Logo (1980s-1991)

Visuals: On a black background, there are eight neon lights forming lines, four drawing from the left, and four drawing from the right. After the lines stop drawing, "Cinéma" in a script font, colored a salmon-pink color, writes out in a tilted angle. Then the word "plus" zooms out to the bottom right of the lines, which shines. Then, the 8th line turns into 8 small lines, revealing the word "P R É S E N T E" by having it flip up.

Variant: A still variant exists.

Technique: 2D digital animation.

Audio: An orchestral hit, some techno-synth beats, three synth-piano tones as "Cinema" writes out, then a really long synth note when "plus" zooms out, followed by a catchy synth-disco tune. It is almost similar in arrangement to its predecessor above.

Availability: Can be seen on Les plaisirs solitaires, among other productions and video releases from this company. This company also distributed tapes from Trans World Entertainment into Canada. The still variant was spotted on Canadian VHS releases of Syngenor and Rosalie Goes Shopping.
