Logo: From a side view, we can see layers of frames with a light beaming through them. The camera moves to straight view, and only one frame is seen, which has a carved a letter on it, and three "filmstrip-side" dots. The word AUGUST zooms in below, as we move, and then ENTERTAINMENT appears with the separation line.
Variants:

  • An early version was in black and white and still.
  • An earlier version exists where the logo is black on a white background.FX/SFX: The moving light on the background, the drawing separation line.
Music/Sounds: A synth composition with chime bells.
Music/Sounds Variant: On UK prints of Only the Strong, the 1981 20th Century Fox fanfare is heard due to sloppy plastering. Other foreign prints use the normal fanfare.
Availability: Rare. Can be seen on several movies like Only the Strong, Sleep With Me, Red Scorpion 2 (Alliance Atlantis VHS. The MCA/Universal VHS uses the SGE Entertainment logo instead), Crying Freeman, the Japanese VHS release of Necronomicon: Book of the Dead, and Habitat. The still version is seen on earlier released movie Where Sleeping Dogs Lie. The white background version was seen on Nukie, the 2001 MGM VHS of The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai, the Japanese VHS of Halloween (1978), and Spirit of the Eagle (Don't expect it on DVDs of the latter film).
