Background

AISD.TV is the TV and streaming channel of the Austin Independent School District in Austin, Texas that was founded in 1982.

1st Logo (September 30, 2011?-September 29, 2016)

Visuals: This is an in-credit notice where a white box is seen, containing a green chalkboard with the text "AISD" and "22" with the former tilted 90 degrees counterclockwise and the latter in a grunge texture. Both of them are divided by lines, alongside two lines on the top and bottom of the chalkboard. Underneath it is the green text "AUSTIN TX" divided by a minimalist apple with the Austin capitol building inside. Usually, a top notice reading "This has been a production of AISD TV" would accompany the logo as well as a bottom copyright notice.

Variants:

  • On the 2011 Marching Band Jamboree, the logo is on top of the text notice and a 3D, rotating version of the Austin ISD logo is next to the copyright notice.
  • On the 2012 AISD String Festival, the top notice reads
Produced by
AISD TV 22

The 2011 logo is also to the right of the aforementioned rotating apple.

  • On the Frozen Music AISD Student Orchestral Compositions, the text "Frozen Music" is above the stacked text "Brought to you by AISD TV 22" and the logo itself. The rotating apple is to the bottom right of the AISD-TV logo.
  • On the 2012 AISD All Staff Convocation, The text "Produced by AISD TV Channel 22" and the logo appear in a split-screen format.
  • On the 2013 State of the District Presentation and season 3 of Inside AISD, the notice is similar to the top variant except it's all capitalized, AISD is reworded to "Austin ISD", and "Channel" is removed.
  • Inside AISD has its logo as well as the episode title on top of the logo's notice.
    • Season 5 would have the AISD logo accompanied with the Austin ISD Communications & Community Engagement logo with its in-credit notice, "Produced by AISD.TV" underneath the latter.
  • On Convocation 2014, the logo appears in the bottom left square next to multiple boxes in different colors.

Technique: None for most of the variants.

Audio: The ending theme of the program.

Availability:

  • It was hardly seen on most shorts and fine arts programs at the time due to them merely using an in-credit text with no logo. Despite this, it can be spotted on a handful of programs from this period, most notably the Convocation events, but the AISD.TV streaming website only archives shows and events since 2011. It is unknown if this logo appeared on programs that premiered before said year.
  • The 3D apple variant can be seen on the 2011 Marching Band Jamboree, the 2012 AISD String Festival, the Frozen Music AISD Student Orchestral Compositions, among others.
  • This logo was also seen on Inside AISD from season 1 to the first episode of season 5, which would be its last appearance.

2nd Logo (May 15, 2012-February 8, 2016)

Visuals: The top notice is structed like this

This has been a production of
AISD.TV

Underneath it is the same 3D apple described in the previous logo and the copyright notice on the bottom of the screen.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the "AISD TV" text is colored in yellow.
  • In other cases, the logo may be superimposed.
  • On the 2013 Steel Band Festival, the AISD notice is missing a period.
  • On season 2 of Eagle Talk, "production" has been reworded to "presentation".
  • Sometimes, the AISD notice is in lowercase.
  • On the 2015 Digital Living Project, the channel's blogspot link was added underneath the AISD notice.
  • On the 2016 AVID Cording Ceremony, the text "Austin Independent School District" is added below the "AISD.TV" notice and the copyright info is to the right of the rotating apple.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The ending theme of the program.

Availability: It was used in tandem with the previous and next logo on certain programs.

  • The superimposed variant was seen on the 2015 PAC Showcase MS and the 2015 PAC Showcase Elem.
  • Programs that has the AISD notice in lowercase include later episodes of Eagle Talk Show, the APIE Salute 2015, the 2016 edition of AISD Champions, among others.

3rd Logo (April 2, 2015-December 10, 2018)

Visuals: Once again, it's an in-credit notice but this time containing the Austin ISD apple logo on the bottom and the text above reading

This program was a collaboration between

AISD Department of Communications
and Community Engagement

and

AISD.TV
.

A copyright notice, reading "COPYRIGHT (YEAR)", is also seen underneath the logo.

Variant: A Spanish version of the notice exists.

Technique: A still, digital graphic

Audio: The ending theme of the show.

Availability: The English variant was only seen on Breaking Down the Barriers up until the 19th episode of season 2. The Spanish variant appeared on the first three seasons of Educa Austin as well as all episodes of Zona Escolar.

4th Logo (October 12, 2016)

Visuals: The text notice is the same as the previous logos but with "AISD TV" replaced with "Channel 22". Rather than appear below the "Production" section of the notice, "AISD", now beveled, is to the right of the Austin ISD apple and above the text "TV".

Technique: A still, digital graphic

Audio: The ending theme of the show.

Availability: This logo was only used during the 2016-2017 school year before being replaced by the next logo. Its only known appearance so far was on Maestro en Casa Graduación 2016.

5th Logo (May 3, 2017-)

Visuals: As with the previous logos, this is an in-credit notice where there is the text "AISD.TV". "AISD" is inside a thin tube outline with the dot overlapping it and two curved lines, representing a signal, are to the top right of the "V". As usual, the text "This has been a production of" is added above the logo alongside the copyright year underneath.

Variants:

  • The "Production" text can be omitted on various programs.
    • Or, it may be reworded to "presentation".
  • Sometimes, the Austin ISD apple appears above or to the left of the AISD TV logo.
    • In some cases, the apple can be white.
  • The full name of the AISD district can be added below the logo.
  • Some programs include the channel's Twitter account underneath everything else, complete with the Twitter icon to the right.
  • The Inside AISD variant is essentially the same as the first logo but with the 2017 logo.
  • On Region 18 UIL Marching Band Contest 2017, the logo including the district's full name and copyright are in white and have a shadow effect.
  • On Maestro en Casa Graduación 2018, the logo including its full name and copyright year are in a muted blue color.
  • An unusual variant was seen on the Graduation 2018 Summer Ceremony, where the "AISD" text is fully in red and the rest is in dark grey.
  • On the Austin ISD Diced & Sliced Taco Challenge, the logo with the Austin ISD apple on top has the words "An" an "Production" on top and bottom respectively.
  • On Convocation 2018, the logo with the Austin ISD apple is off center.
  • On the 2018 Best in Class video, the logo has a transparent shadow.
  • Graduation ceremonies starting 2019 would have a custom variation where there is the Austin ISD logo complete with its full name underneath, the copyright year, and AISD.TV's notice with the "Produced by" and Twitter account info on top and bottom of its logo respectively. Both of them are within a dark grey diamond with a white outline, resembling a graduation cap, and is against a custom background designed for a particular school.
    • Starting 2022, the design would be much different with an animation sequence to boost. First, a graduation cap slides from the left with the school's mascot inside. Stopping there, a rectangular box in the same color as the cap with two thin gold bars on top and bottom stretches towards the right, showing a box in a lighter shade of gray which resizes vertically, revealing two sides, one of which is in the same color as the aforementioned cap. Following this, the Austin ISD and AISD.TV notices wipe in from the top and in the middle respectively. It was also shown that the Twitter icon was replaced with its mobile phone app icon.
  • On the Austin ISD Fine Arts Kodály Concept, the text "Produced by" appears above the logo with its full name underneath and the notice in general is positioned on top of the credits.
  • In some rare instances, the AISD logo appears on top of the copyright notice with the same size and text for a specific program on top of it.
    • On Summitt Tet Celebration 2020, the logo is in white.
  • On the 2021 Salute Awards, the logo is completely in white.

Technique: Usually none, but some such as the 2022 graduations use simple 2D animation and effects.

Audio: The ending theme of the program.

ore common than its predecessors, thanks to more and more programs switching to this logo rather than use an in-credit text.

  • Graduation ceremonies wouldn't begin using this logo until the next year due them using a simply in-credit notice on the year of this logo's debut. However, the 2017 Maestro en Casa Graduation did include this logo, which is where this logo made its debut.
  • It was also seen on some shows such as the last few episodes of Inside AISD beginning episode 2 of season 5 and SportsScene, although some don't include it such as episode 2 of season 2.
  • The Austin ISD apple variant can be spotted on various programs such as Convocation 2018 and 2019, the 2018 Best in Class video, the 2018 Summer Theatre video, and the Austin ISD Diced & Sliced challenges from 2018 and 2019 to name a few. As for the white apple variant, it can be seen on SportsScene Gridiron, the 2017 AVID Cording Ceremony, the New Eastside Memorial and International High Schools Construction Update in August 2020, among others.
  • The Twitter account variant was seen on the 2017 and 2019 Back to School BASH, the 2018-19 First Days of School videos, and the graduation ceremonies from 2019 and onwards.
  • The copyright logo variant was only seen on two programs so far: the 2021 Austin All Star Band Juneteenth Celebration and Summitt Tet Celebration 2020.

6th Logo (AISD in 3 Custom Logo) (August 21, 2017-March 7, 2022)

Visuals: Starting from the last shot of the episode, when the timer hits zero, it transforms into a simple, blue transparent circle with two rings outside and slides from the left. The footage, then fades to a dark animation sequence of a clock with orange and yellow hands and its lines filing to blue once the minute hand passes them. As the circle from earlier has its rings disappear, the shape itself zooms into the center of the compass. The screen then cuts to a different shot of the timer to where all of the minute lines are colored blue, changing the background to a dark tunnel with rings and lights as well as speeding up the movements of the clocks hands in which they unveil the previous logo. The tunnel rapidly zooms in with the rings leaving the screen before the background becomes black and dimly lit. Once making it to this background, the text "This has been a production of" and "©2022" fades in and deblurs letter by letter and then the channel's Twitter account, "@austinisdtv", appears with a blank app icon fading and spinning once, allowing the Twitter icon to fade in and scroll to the left and show the aforementioned account name.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the logo crossfades into a final scene from the episode.
  • On the March 23-April 13, 2020 episodes, the copyright year is in a different font, which cheaply cuts to one in the same font as the top text.
    • This was fixed on the April 20th episode from the same year and was used until the June 8, 2020 episode. Here, the copyright year in Times New Roman crossfades to the one matching the font of the top text. If one looks closely, the text can be seen inside a box.
  • From June 7 to August 30, 2021, a lens flare was added on the top left, slowly moving downwards.
  • Beginning with the January 10, 2022 episode, a different lens flare is present, this time brighter and nearly on the center of the screen as it slowly floats towards the right.

Technique: A mix of 2D and 3D animation.

Audio: The ending theme of the show while a female announcer says "Stay informed, stay intrigured, and stay entertained, with district activities by tuning in each week to AISD in 3".

Audio Variant: From March 23 to June 8, 2020, during the show's lockdown period due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the announcer's line was changed to "Stay tuned to AISD.TV and visit austinisd.org/coronavirus for the latest information regarding COVID-19's effect on Austin ISD".

Availability: Can be seen on every episode of AISD in 3.

7th Logo (March 10, 2022)

Visuals: On a black background, a thin tube outline is drawn in which a white dot appears before it can connect. Then, the text from the third logo scrolls upwards from the bottom of the tube outline and the signal symbol from before appears once the "V" finishes sliding.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: A generic rock tune.

Availability: Only appeared on the short Kids in Cool Shoes.
