Background

Young Sung Production was a video production/sales company for imported and distributed movies, as a subsidiary of Dong-A Export.

1st Logo (Early-Late 1990s)

Visuals: There is the 3D green, red, and blue arrows with the squares on it, resembling the recycle sign mixed with filmstrips, rotating with the Korean text with the words underneath "YOUNG SUNG PRODUCTION CO. LTD.", then the logo faces to the camera. The text shines.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the logo will freeze when the shine reaches the very right part of the company name, and then will spin away to the top-right corner.
  • On earlier years, the complete logo is shown still, slightly modified where the texts are slightly small, and with slightly dim lights.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A triumphant synth fanfare (probably taken from another logo). Sometimes, a continuation of Dong-A Export logo theme is heard, consisting of an horror-style stinger finishing with a brighter organ note. On some releases, the logo is silent.

Availability: It was seen on VHS tapes of films and anime from the era, including Slayers. This is often preceded by the Dong-A Export logo.

2nd Logo (1999-Early 2000s)

Visuals: Continuing from the Dong-A Export logo, a filmstrip comes from the top-left corner and moves from the bottom to the left. A blue arrow passes as it moves. The filmstrip then twists to the right, and moves up, as a red arrow passes through it. The filmstrip then twists to the right, forming a triangle. A green arrow is shown comes out from the other side as the other arrows are revealed. The triangular logo settles near the center as a light comes at the center of it. The logo turns into golden. The Hangul text rotates in below, and a light wipes in the text "YOUNG SUNG PRODUCTION CO. LTD.". The logo shines.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A majestic synthesized theme with piano, and whooshing sounds when the arrows appear. It changes into an ominous synthesizer, with a "thud" as the Hangul text settles in.

Availability: Unknown. This is often preceded by the Dong-A Export logo. [Examples?]
