Background

Yerevan Studio (Armenian: Երեվան) is a studio of feature and documentary television films in Yerevan. It shoots feature films. It also digitizes Armenian films of the Soviet period.

1st Logo (November 19, 1975)

Visuals: There are two versions of the logo:

  • The Russian version of the logo has the white text against a cyan background:

  • The Armenian version of the logo has the white text against a blue background:

Technique: A still printed image.

Audio: The opening theme of the film.

Availability: Only seen before A Bride from the North (Невеста с севера / Հարսնացու հյուսիսից) both in the Russian and Armenian prints.

2nd Logo (1975-1983)

Visuals: A close-up of an eagle is shown. Then the camera moves away and Armenian text appears (the lettersո and ւ are shown as a ligature for representing sound [u]):

Technique: Motion control animation.

Audio: Unknown.

3rd Logo (2007-)


Visuals: A lion is shown walking and roaring like Leo the Lion of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Then the lion reaches up and a staff and crown appear. Text in Armenian under the lion appears: Ե Ր Ե Վ Ա Ն Ս Տ Ո Ւ Դ Ի Ա

Technique: CGI done by Triada Studio.

Audio: An ominous theme which transitions to an orchestral theme. Sounds of a lion walking and the MGM Leo The Lion roar are also heard.

Availability: Seen on films produced by Yerevan Studio. [Examples?]
