Visuals: When hitting "Sneak Peeks" on the main menu on most 2004-10 DVDs, the phrase "Sneak Peeks" zooms slowly down the top of the screen and stays put. Four gold arrows slide in from all four directions of the screen, after which the words "PLAY ALL" (on the top right side of the screen), "MAIN MENU" (at the bottom right side) and "MORE" (at the bottom left side) fade in. Then, several logos for movies/TV shows/TV networks animate in several unique ways and appear in the middle of the screen in all sides. Then, a blue filmreel with gold holes appears next to either one of the logos or "PLAY ALL", and the viewer can use their remote control to move the filmreel to a movie logo, which by clicking on them takes them to the trailer they want to see, or to "PLAY ALL" (which plays all the trailers, either on the disc or on the page), "MAIN MENU" (which jumps right back to the main menu), "MORE" (which jumps to an additional page of trailers), and "BACK" (which can only be accessed from the second page, and jumps back to the first page). When the viewer selects a trailer they want, the small filmreel inverts and the menu cuts to black, then the start of the trailer.

Trivia:

Some 2000 DVDs, such as The Sixth Sense, Mumford, Tarzan, Mission to Mars, featured the same previews as on the disc's opening accessible from the main menu, except the option is entitled "Preview Trailer(s)" and the previews, complete with the original IDs, run automatically (a practice that, except for a "More Sneak Peeks" option in the "Sneak Peeks" menu on the original release of Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp's Adventure, was later abandoned, only for it to be revived in 2010). Starting with Keeping the Faith, it was officially changed to "Sneak Peeks," although the trailer option was titled "Sneak Peeks" on the earlier-released Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins.
Some DVDs, such as Shanghai Noon and Knights, High Fidelity, Newsies, Bringing Down the House, The Recruit, Sling Blade: Exclusive Director's Cut, and Prozac Nation, feature previews before the main menu, but don't offer a "Sneak Peeks" option.
Following the Sneak Peeks menu variant's retirement, the menu was reverted back to its 2000-04 design. Discs with this include Everybody's Fine, When in Rome, and the 2010 reissues of the first two Toy Story films. Starting with the DVD release of Alice in Wonderland (2010), the previews play automatically for the first time since 2000 whenever "Sneak Peeks" is pressed, a practice that continues to be used to this day.
Normally, on any DVD with the Sneak Peeks menu variant, if you press "up" on "Play All," the cursor will move to "Main Menu." However, on the 2005 DVD release of The Pacifier, if you go to page 2, then press "up" on "Play All," the cursor will move to "Back."
Likewise, when pressing down from "Play All" on the Sneak Peeks menu, it goes to the preview closest to it. However, on the 2007 DVD release of Home Improvement: The Complete Seventh Season, the preview underneath it on each respective page is for Blu-ray Disc and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause, but pressing "down" instead highlights Wild Hogs or Underdog.
On the 2005-07 DVD releases of Father of the Bride: 15th Anniversary Special Edition, Tarzan II and Higglytown Heroes: Heroes on the Move (the latter two of which feature Disney's FastPlay), after playing any or all of the previews on the Sneak Peeks menu, the user is returned to the main menu.
From 2006-09, the opening previews on any given disc featuring the Sneak Peeks menu were included on its second page (unless a release had only one page, in which case they all appear on the same page).
The filmreel background was later reused for the 2005-20 IDs on the Coming Soon to Theaters ID.
On the 2008 DVDs of Enchanted and National Treasure: Book of Secrets, the Sneak Peeks menus have almost identical preview arrangements, especially on the first page, with only a few trailers differing between them. Same can be said for the 2008 DVD releases of The Muppet Show: Season 3 and Home Improvement: The Complete Eighth Season (but with the latter having a third preview). All of these titles are some of the last to use the original variant before the 2008 variant was introduced.
On early releases with the Sneak Peeks menu, all the logos for titles fade in at once. Later releases with the menu show them all animate at once, and eventually show each logo animate in various ways.
The Sneak Peeks menu background & music was still used on Buena Vista DVDs from 2006-2009 after the main bumpers were replaced with the 2005-2020 bumpers.
The 2004-06 DVD releases of Duplex, Hu$tle, and Grey's Anatomy: The Complete First Season use this menu despite having only one preview, and the first two still bother to use a "Play All" option, therefore providing two ways to select the sole trailer.

Variants: Five major variants of the Sneak Peeks menu exist, each with their own sub-variants:

On the original release of The Lion King 1 1/2, the filmreel is slightly thicker. This may be because it was the first DVD designed with this bumper, as the disc files are dated 12/5/03. (Open Range, which uses the normal icon, has its files dating to 12/9/03)
On some earlier DVDs with the original variant, the logos faded in all at once. This can be seen on The Lion King 1 1/2, Brother Bear, The Haunted Mansion, Calendar Girls, Hope Springs, and Ghosts of the Abyss. The first DVD to use animation on the logos was Duplex, which exclusively features a preview for Miramax, whose logo slides in from the right side of the screen.
Duplex also has the menu fade in.
In August of 2004, the boxes were deleted, therefore leaving the background as just plain blue. However, Disney releases continued to use the original variant until October.
Later in 2004, the text font and lines became thinner and the background is now slightly darker. This makes a strange appearance on the second page of trailers on the 2005 DVD release of Walt Disney's Classic Cartoon Favorites: Volume 7 - Extreme Adventure Fun, despite the first page using the 2005 variant.
Another variant was introduced in March 2005, where the animation runs smoother, the filmreel background is different, and the logo animations run at different times instead of all at once.
In some rare cases, the menu appears already formed. So far, this is only known to appear on the 2004-05 DVD releases of Rolie Polie Olie: Springy-Time Fun, Open Range, Under the Tuscan Sun, Freaky Friday (1976), Boy Meets World: The Complete First Season, Power Rangers Dino Thunder: Volume 1 - Day of the Dino, Lizzie McGuire: StarStruck, Lizzie McGuire: Totally Crushed, The Station Agent, Disney Princess Party Volume 1, Disney Princess Stories: Vol. 1 - A Gift from the Heart, Pokémon: Destiny Deoxys, and early pressings of Hostage.
On some DVDs, a black screen appears before the menu plays, while others go straight to the start of the menu.
Some releases with the original variant, including Brother Bear, Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers, Home on the Range, and Cold Creek Manor, have the menu (but not the logos) colored darker.
On the 2004 DVD release of Bad Santa, after the menu forms and the filmreel disappears, the last part of the menu animation (after the logos fully form and the icon first appears) repeats itself.
Sometimes, the filmreel appears in its inverted form (gold with blue holes; this inverts to the blue version when an option is selected), and on the earliest DVD releases, in silver with gray holes and orange with brown holes (the orange one only appears when a trailer is selected). The gold version is used on any 2009-10 DVD with the custom variants.
- On the 2004 DVD issue of Rolie Polie Olie: Springy-Time Fun, depending on where the Sneak Peeks menu is accessed from, the Filmreel icon is either red (Happy Hearts Day) or green (Easter Egg-Stravaganza). After selecting an option on either menu, it turns yellow.
- On the 2004 DVD issues of The Haunted Mansion and Pokémon: Jirachi Wish Maker, the icon appears in the blue version, but when a menu option is selected, it switches to the orange version.
- On the 2004 DVD issue of Power Rangers Dino Thunder: Volume 1 - Day of the Dino, when a trailer is selected, the Filmreel icon turns from silver to light blue with gray holes.
- On the 2004 DVD issue of Lizzie McGuire: StarStruck, the blue portions appear more purple.
- On the 2004 DVD issue of The Golden Girls: The Complete First Season, the first page features the blue version, while the second page features the gold version.
- On the 2004-05 DVD issues of Around the World in 80 Days and Porco Rosso, the Filmreel icon is shaded differently.
- On the 2005 DVD issue of The Last Shot, the second page features another unusual color scheme for the Filmreel icon: When navigating the menu, the icon is in green. When selecting a preview, it turns gold. (The first page has the blue version.)
- On the 2005 DVD issues of Hostage and Cursed, the icon is positioned in odd places: when highlighting "Play All," "More/Back," or "Main Menu," the icon is placed partway through the arrows rather than above them, and when highlighting a trailer, the icon is placed next to the logos rather than on them.
- On the 2005 DVD issue of My Neighbors the Yamadas, the blue version is used, except the foreground icon is redesigned in that the shape is smaller and "wings" are seen on both sides. (When selecting an option, the normal gold icon is used.)
- On the 2007 DVD issue of DuckTales: Volume 3, the icon is in green, much like on The Last Shot, except on both pages. Also, when a preview is selected, it turns darker green.
Some DVD releases have the logos animate at a choppier framerate, while others have them at a smoother rate.
Certain DVDs only have one page of trailers. As a result, "More" is deleted.
On the 2006 DVD release of Goal! The Dream Begins, the Filmreel icon appears approximately 4 seconds into the menu animation.
On In Search of Santa and Scrubs: The Complete Second Season, the vertical arrows are slightly extended on the first page to the point where a thin green line appears on the bottom of the screen, and when you go to the second page, the arrows shorten a bit until the line disappears. This is especially noticeable on widescreen TVs. It's also like this on The Ladykillers (2004) and Alias: The Complete Fourth Season, except with the horizontal arrows.
On the 2005 DVD release of The Golden Girls: The Complete Third Season, if one goes to the second page, the light emanating from an icon representing a preview of the next season's then-forthcoming DVD release takes up the entire right half.
On the 2008 DVD release of Home Improvement: The Complete Eighth Season, the Filmreel icon is replaced with an orange house (based on the show's logo), with a red rooftop. When one of the options is clicked, the orange portion turns yellow. The menu itself is also brighter than usual.
On the 2008 DVD release of The Muppet Show: Season 3, the Filmreel icon is replaced with Wall-E from the film of the same name, which was promoted on the disc.
On the two previously mentioned titles, Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas appears on the left side of the screen.
On the 2008 DVD release of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody: Lip Synchin' in the Rain, the Filmreel icon is replaced with an orange hotel key.
In the summer of 2008, the menu was drastically enhanced. Here, the background looks slightly realistic (and the filmreels appear to have been placed against the background of the 2007 Blu-ray idents, judging by some brief flashing that occurs), the texts are in metallic silver, “Sneak Peeks” (also now in metallic silver) turns downward to face the viewer, the "Play All," "More/Back," and "Main Menu" texts fade in once the logos are in place, and the arrows are thinner and spaced further apart.
- A 1.33:1 version of this appears on the 2008 DVD release of Scrubs: The Complete Seventh Season, while the rest of the menus are presented in 1.85:1.
On the 2008 DVD releases of City of Men and Greek: Chapter Two, the cursor is in red.
On StarStruck: Extended Edition, the menu is still.
From 2009-10, the background, cursors, and text/arrow colors would vary depending on the release. The animation of “Sneak Peeks” remains the same (although some DVDs have different animation for the text), though some releases also leave off the arrows entirely. In some cases, you can see the filmreels. Here are some variants:
- Up: A still of Carl Fredriksen's house flying upwards. Regular cursor, yellow text, no arrows.
- Bolt: Over a orange colored background. Custom cursor, black text, yellow arrows (seen here)
- The 70th Anniversary Platinum Edition of Pinocchio (1940): Over a still of two fox characters at a wall. Regular cursor, yellow text (with "Sneak Peeks" lowered down to make the two foxes more visible), no arrows (seen here)
- Old Dogs: An iceberg with many penguins on it, in front of a mountain. Regular cursor, red text, no arrows.
- The Proposal: The filmreel background from the earlier versions, tinted in teal with cream yellow bars at the top and bottom. Regular cursor, blue text, no arrows.
- Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Mickey's Adventures in Wonderland: A forest scene animated in the style of the show, tinted in pink. Regular cursor, yellow text, no arrows.
- G-Force: A grid shown through a monitor. Regular cursor, blue text, no arrows.
- Surrogates: A computer program, with an outline of a person. Regular cursor, blue text, blue arrows.
- Blindness: A grayscaled version of the normal menu. Regular cursor, black text, light gray arrows.
- Swing Vote: The American flag. Here, "Sneak Peeks" is already there, and enclosed in a bar with the logos of the two major political parties. Plus, "Play All," "More/Back," and "Main Menu" are in a different font. Custom cursor (a red star), blue text, no arrows.
- Morning Light: An overhead shot of the sea, with a yacht sailing away and some compasses in the lower left and upper right corners. Regular cursor, yellow text, light blue arrows (although these are a little hard to see).
- Happy Go Lucky: A beige background of clouds scrolling by. Custom cursor (purple peach), black text, yellow arrows.
- Air Bud: Special Edition: Over a still image of a Basketball court from the film. Custom cursor (orange basketball), white text, yellow arrows.
- Air Bud: Golden Reciever: Special Edition: There is a floor of a Basketball court. Custom cursor (same as the first film), blue text, white arrows.
- Beverly Hills Chihuahua: A pool from the other menus on the DVD. Custom cursor (a magenta and yellow beach ball), blue text, no arrows.
- Tigger and Pooh and Musical Too: A stage with blue curtains, red floor and the 2008 variant's background. Custom cursor (a brown honey pot), brown text (now in the Hobo font), no arrows.
- Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: On a magic mirror from the film. Normal cursor, yellow text, no arrows.
- Bunnytown: Hello Bunnies: The 2008 variant's background with a bunch of bunnies from the show on the sides and tops. Custom cursor (a magenta carrot), red text (in a custom font from the DVD menus, with the "Sneak Peeks" text forming differently), no arrows. Also, the mentioned "Sneak Peeks" text is slightly lower (unlike the Pinocchio variant).
- My Friends Tigger and Pooh: Super Duper Super Slueths: The menu is still in this version. Unknown.

Technique: Various styles of animation, just like the rest of the bumpers.

Audio (and Variants): A brief shimmering sound when "Sneak Peeks" appears, then a deep but very calm synth theme (based on the regular idents' music) is heard, along with sound effects corresponding to the movie logos appearing. There are also several beeping sounds like those present in IDs used at the time. None for the still variant.

On the 2004 DVD release of Rolie Polie Olie: Springy-Time Fun, a whimsical cue based on music from the show plays over the menu.
On the 2004 DVD releases of The Lion King 1 1/2, Cold Creek Manor, Hope Springs, and Veronica Guerin, as well as a couple of DVDs from 2006 (Quack Pack: Volume 1 being one of them) and DVDs with the 2008 variant, the music is slightly longer, with each note being held for one beat longer.
On the 2004 DVD release of The Haunted Mansion, most of the shimmering is omitted.
On the 2004-08 DVD releases of Miracle, Spider-Man vs. Doc Ock, Lady and the Tramp: 50th Anniversary Platinum Edition, The Muppet Show: Season 2, and The Aristocats: Special Edition, the theme is one second out-of-sync.
On the 2004 DVD release of Power Rangers Dino Thunder: Volume 1 - Day of the Dino, the same music as heard on the disc's other submenus plays.
An even shorter version can be found on Around the World in 80 Days (2004), after the menu is fully animated, in which the very last split-second of the music plays and loops constantly.
On DVDs released from January 2004-June 2005, there are no sound effects corresponding to the logos. On Where's Spot/Spot Goes to the Farm, Father of the Bride: 15th Anniversary Special Edition, Tilt: The Complete First Season, and Tarzan II, this variant plays in a repeated loop after the menu finishes animating. (It's also like this on People I Know, but only when visiting either page for the first time; after playing a trailer, the menu stays silent.) The last DVDs not to use any sound effects are Hostage and Cursed; starting with The Pacifier, sound effects were used for the logos, although a sound effect was first heard on the earlier Spider-Man: The Venom Saga, where a slamming sound is heard as the logo for Power Rangers SPD animates. Surprisingly, this variant was used on Toby Tyler, issued in August 2005, as well as the 2008 DVD release of Snow Buddies.
On the 2005-07 DVD releases of Mulan II and Home Improvement: The Complete Sixth Season, the volume is lower than usual.
On the 2007 DVD release of The Invisible, the sound effects heard on Primeval (corresponding to logos for Apocalypto, Ratatouille, Renaissance, The Lookout, and Roger Corman) play while the disc's own logos (for Wild Hogs, Ratatouille, Lost: The Complete Third Season, and Becoming Jane) animate, likely due to an editing mistake.
On the 2007-09 DVD releases of 8 Simple Rules: The Complete First Season and Bunnytown: Hello Bunnies!, once again, the menu's theme loops after it fully forms, complete with the logos' sound effects.
The 2009-10 variants each have their own custom music. Here's a list of the music:
- A Muppets Christmas: Letters to Santa (2009): An instrumental version of "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" plays.
- Race to Witch Mountain (2009): Unknown. After the initial music plays, an epic orchestral fanfare repeats, in a similar manner to Tarzan II.
- Space Buddies (2009): Calming music that sounds life-changing.
- Castle in the Sky (2009): An epic orchestral fanfare.
- Up (2009): Unknown
- Bolt (2008): Unknown

Audio Trivia: Like the rest of the bumpers, this was composed by Walter Werzowa at Musikvergnuegen.

Availability: It appears on nearly every major Buena Vista/WDHE DVD release from 2004 to early 2010; and is in fact the most common bumper of any of the Filmreel bumpers, due to its extended lifespan compared to the others. However, since it is more of a menu than a bumper, it can only be accessed by selecting "Sneek Peeks" from the main menu of the DVD.

The original variant was first seen on both Rolie Polie Olie: Springy-Time Fun (in still form) and Spot: Where's Spot/Spot Goes to the Farm (in animated form), and last appeared on Home on the Range. The shortened music officially began use on Ghosts of the Abyss.
The second variant is the least common, having only been used for a few months in 2004, but it first appeared on Ella Enchanted.
The third variant was used from the end of 2004 all the way until spring 2005, and was first seen on Around the World in 80 Days (2004).
The fourth variant, which is the most common by far, was used from 2005-08. It debuted on Beyblade: The Movie - Fierce Battle and made its final appearances on Phineas and Ferb: The Fast and the Phineas and Wizards of Waverly Place: Wizard School.
The fifth variant (which debuted almost two years after Disney's 1999-2006 bumpers were retired) was only used briefly, and can be seen on titles from the second half of 2008, beginning with College Road Trip and ending with The Secret of the Magic Gourd.
This menu doesn't appear on Pokémon Heroes, Alice in Wonderland: Masterpiece Edition, Winnie the Pooh: Springtime with Roo, Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over (these four releases were created during a transitional period), the Miramax Collector's Series reissue of Rounders, Jersey Girl, MyScene Goes Hollywood: The Movie, the original release of Sin City, and Pixar DVDs from 2004-08, while some titles such as The Golden Girls: The Complete Second Season, Scrubs: The Complete First Season, and the original release of Apocalypto (reissued by Samuel Goldwyn Films in 2020) forgo previews (and therefore, this menu) entirely.
- The only Pixar DVD with this menu was Up (2009) as other Pixar releases from the era had a customized menu with texts (with the exceptions of Ratatouille and Pixar Short Films Collection Volume 1, as the menu (and the option in general) were removed entirely, and you are only able to watch the previews when you start the DVD).
This can be accessed on the 2005 DVD release of Sky High from both the regular menu option and as an Easter egg when the viewer highlights the bus window on the main menu, to the left of "Scene Selection." On The Great Raid, released later that year, it can be accessed from the special features menu.
This menu is usually on the first disc of a multi-disc set, but on most post-2006 TV releases such as seasons 2-4 of Lost, seasons 3 and 4 of Grey's Anatomy, Alias: The Complete Fifth Season, and the first two seasons of Ugly Betty and Brothers and Sisters, it appears on the last disc. (Releases of Home Improvement, The Golden Girls, and The Muppet Show, however, still kept it on the first disc, as did the first season of 8 Simple Rules.) It was also used on the second disc of the 2004 DVD releases of Cold Mountain and The English Patient.
