Background

WNVT is a non-commercial public television station licensed to Spotsylvania, Virginia. It was a PBS affiliate from 1972 to 2001. In 2001, the station became one of two flagship stations of MHz Worldview. MHz shut down on March 1st, 2020, meaning the station became an affiliate of the World Channel. It was licensed to Goldvein until 2018.


1st Logo (1972-1978?)


Visuals: On any background is the text "WNVT", and below it (on the bottom right) is the text "NORTHERN VIRGINIA EDUCATIONAL TELEVISION."

Variants: There are some existing variants of this logo. Some of the variants include sepia text, a purple background, a brown background, a black background with white text, a black background with colored text, and light text.

Technique: None. It is a still logo.

Audio: An announcer saying "This program was produced by WNVT, Northern Virginia Educational Television."

Availability: Seen on WNVT programming during the 1970s.


2nd Logo (1978?-1982)

3rd Logo (1982-1984?)

Visuals: On a live-stock background is the text "wnvt 53" in an orange-like color. Below the text, "Goldvein, Virginia" is shown.

Technique: Like before, it is a still logo, so none.

Audio: An announcer saying "This is WNVT Channel 53, Goldvein, Virginia, public television for northern Virginia."

Availability: It was only used as a station ID and a sign-off logo.
