Background

Virtucraft Studios Ltd. was formed in 1999 as Virtucraft Ltd. by freelance programmer Brian Beuken using his funding from his last freelance project, Micro Machines 1 and 2: Twin Turbo. The company was based in Bolton, England and it was best known for its licensed titles on the Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance. The company went bankrupt in 2003.

1st Logo (June 6, 2000-September 11, 2002)

Visuals: On a black or white background, there is a white round "V". Inside it is the two shapes, a black rounded rectangle with the text "VIRTUCRAFT" and a red red rounded rectangle.

Variants:

  • An animated version exists, where the text flashes in.
  • On Dexter's Laboratory: Deesaster Strikes! for the Game Boy Advance, the BAM! Entertainment logo is shown on the right side of the logo.

Technique: A still digital graphic.

Audio: None, or the game's title theme.

Availability: Seen on the GBC games of THQ's Croc, Mattel Interactive's The Wild Thornberrys Rambler, Acclaim's NBA Jam 2001 and THQ's Prince Naseem Boxing, as well as the unreleased GBC game of Vatical Entertainment's VR Sports Powerboat Racing, and the GBA games of Majesco's F-14 Tomcat, BAM's Dexter's Laboratory: Deesaster Strikes!, Midway's Mortal Kombat Advance, Ubisoft's Mike Tyson Boxing and Sega's Comix Zone.

2nd Logo (October 15, 2002-March 2003)

Visuals: Over a white background is the same shield from before, except it was textless and invisible and two purple arches surround from the left and right. Behind it is the text "virtucraft" and on the bottom right is the text "studios".

Technique: A still digital graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on the GBA games of Ubisoft's Rocky and BAM!'s Samurai Jack: The Amulet of Time and Dexter's Laboratory: Chess Challenge.
