Background

Virgin Sound and Vision was a company spun-off from Virgin Interactive in 1994 to focus exclusively on CD-based edutainment games.

1st Logo (1994-1996)

Visuals: A red scribbled circle is made with the Virgin logo inside it on a white background. After it finishes, the text "SOUND AND VISION" appears on the right curve as the circle then appears normal.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: A whistling tune with some "do-do" sounds. An "ahh!" sound then plays when the logo turns normal.

Availability: Appears on various MS-DOS titles released by the company such as Virgin's One Tribe: The Ultimate Multimedia Atlas, Get Ready for School: Charlie Brown! and Snoopy's Campfire Stories, all of which are extremely difficult to find.


2nd Logo (1995-1996)


Visuals: Various images (such as a horn and someone's mouth) appear each time for a brief second on a black background. Then it ends with the company's logo.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: Some gong sounds accompanied with other sound effects.

Availability: Appears on games such as The Wonderful World of Paperpolis, Terratopia and also on an Israeli PC game called Mysterious Island.
