VideoScope

Logo (Early 1980s)

Visuals: On an beige background, the white text "VIDEOSCOPE" in a rather tall and thin font, is seen with a black shadow effect, as well as a large S-shaped curve that snakes above and below the logo. From here, the logo remains still for 15 seconds before fading out, as a warning screen fades in its place for 15 more seconds. After those pass, the warning fades out and the actual logo begins: the word "VIDEO" types out first, followed by it disappearing and have "SCOPE" type is as well. It then disappears to have both words type in at the same time, and then the two curve pieces appear one-by-one.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: A funky disco-inspired tune that plays throughout the first half and warning, followed by an announcer saying "VideoScope is proud to present for your home entertainment." This is followed by a different, but still funky-sounding, fanfare that's in time with the animation.

Availability: It can be seen from various VHS tapes released from them, ranging a wide variety of titles. One title it appeared on is Linda Lovelace for President, a softcore porn movie.
