Background

Vicarious Visions Alchemy is a game engine designed by Intrinsic (firstly called Intrinsic Alchemy), who were later purchased by Vicarious Visions. Its logo was first used in 2002.

Logo (2002-September 15, 2009)

Visuals: There is a quickly rolling and zooming figure that blows the screen. It appears to be a hexagon with a white center and six tubes attached to it. Plain gold words suddenly appear in a flash, above reading "POWERED BY" and below "INTRINSIC / ALCHEMY". The word "INTRINSIC" was later replaced with "VICARIOUS VISIONS" starting with X-Men Legends in 2004.

Technique: CGI animation.

Audio: Whistling and an altered gong sound.

Audio Variant: On the HD versions of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2, additional hums and rattles were added.

Availability: Appears on various games, most notably Crash Nitro Kart, X-Men Legends and its sequel, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and its sequel, and Spider-Man 3 for PS2.
