Background

VTech is a Hong Kong-based manufacturer and supplier of electronic products. The company was founded in 1976 under Video Technology Limited, distributing early video game consoles. Their product scope later changed towards personal computers in the 1980s, and, since the 1990s, electronic edutainment / children's products and cordless phones. The company would release the V.Smile series of edutainment consoles in 2004. In 2015, the company's servers were suspect of a data breach of its recent products which resulted in a $650,000 fine.

1st Logo (August 4, 2004-2013)


Visuals: On a cobalt blue background, the white text "vtech" in its corporate font fades in and out, with a glow behind flashing breifly.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: A playful 2-note synth piano theme.

Audio Variant: The music is not heard when a cartridge ("Smartridge") is not inserted on consoles with this logo.

Availability: Appears on all of the company's console games, starting with the V.Smile.

2nd Logo (2006-2010?)


Visuals: Same as the 1st logo, only on a white background, and with "vtech" in skyblue.

Technique: A still graphic.

Audio: A quick synth bling.

Availability: Appears on all of the company's console games, only for the V.Smile Baby Infant Development System.
