Background

The Canadian Television Fund (or Fonds canadien de télévision) is a public-private funding partnership organization established in 1998 by both the Department of Canadian Heritage and the Canadian cable and satellite industry. The CTF funds the creation and contributions of Canadian-content made by Canadian broadcasting services and media industry.

On April 1, 2010, the Canadian Television Fund was reformed as the Canadian Media Fund.

1st Logo (1998-early/mid 2000s)

Visuals: Just a simple in-credit text notice that says “Produced with the participation of the Canadian Television Fund” and “created by the Government of Canada and the Canadian cable industry”.

Variants: Different fonts for this text exists, depending on the show.

2nd Logo (2000?-2010)

Visuals: Same as the 1st logo. However, this time around the word “Canadian Television Fund” is shown in a red wordmark and both the text “Produced with the participation of” and “created by the Government of Canada and the Canadian cable industry” have a thin white font. There is also a maple seed shown in the left.

Variants:

  • The maple seed size may differ depending on the show, ranging from big to small.
  • A bilingual variant exists with both the names, “Canadian Television Fund” and “Fonds canadien de télévision”
    • Additionally, a French-language only variant exists as well. Only shown in programs produced in Quebec.
  • A print version of this logo exists.
  • A rare promo reel spot for this organization exists.
