Background

This is writer/director Stephen Sommers' (The Mummy, Van Helsing, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) production company.

(August 1, 2008- )

Logo: We follow the shadow of a biplane flying above the desert. The camera pans upwards to reveal the plane itself, flying towards the sun. As it passes over a dune, the action freezes and becomes an illustration surrounded by black borders. The shadowy side of the dune forms an "S" as the name "SOMMERS COMPANY", set in a gold Baskerville typeface, all in caps, flips in letter-by-letter below.

Trivia: The logo is a callback to a scene from The Mummy, one of the films Sommers worked on.

Technique: The plane. Great animation.

Music/Sounds: A majestic fanfare, accompanied with the sound of a plane flying; this is actually an excerpt from Alan Silvestri's score to The Mummy Returns.

Availability: Appeared at the end of The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor and Odd Thomas.
