The Ogiens/Kane Company

From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

Background

This is Michael Ogiens and Josh Kane's vanity card.

Logo (June 26, 1987-November 23, 1996)

Visuals: On a blue background, a orange and a apple come from the top and bottom of the screen, respectively. Red streaks go through the orange, and orange lines go through the apple (looking identical to the MasterCard logo) as this text appears and shines:

OGIENS/KANE
C O M P A N Y

Variant: On The Lazarus Man pilot movie, the logo is shortened, where it starts at the appearance of the company name and shining.

Technique: Cel animation.

Audio: A 3-note synth jingle with a synth ping. On the first two seasons of The Young Riders, this logo is silent as the Pendragon logo preceded it. The Lazarus Man has the closing theme to the show and the first few note of the 1996 Castle Rock Television theme before it cuts to said logo.

Availability: First seen on an episode of CBS Summer Playhouse in 1987. Was also seen on the 1989-1992 ABC series The Young Riders (which is on DVD, with the logo intact), as well as the TV movies Trenchcoat in Paradise (1989) and Into The Badlands (1991). Can be found on The Lazarus Man pilot movie on VHS from Turner Home Entertainment.
