Background

This is the production company of Richard and Lauren Shuler Donner, who are both directors and producers. It was launched in 1999 following a rename from Donner/Shuler Donner Productions.

1st Logo (December 16, 1999-February 18, 2005)

Logo: We see the moon by a cloud, all in a heavy golden tint. Suddenly, the golden color reflects what appears to be the moving word "DONNERS" (with the 'N's connected) in a gothic-like font. The word flashes and zooms out, leaving the moon in its usual color, and the word "THE" appears above and the word "COMPANY" appears below.

Trivia: This logo is based on the opening credits to the 1985 film Ladyhawke, which was produced and directed by the Donners themselves.

Variant: A short version exists.

Technique: CGI animation.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Rare. It only appeared at the end of Any Given Sunday and Constantine.

2nd Logo (March 3, 2006-)

Logo: We start out on a space background which includes the rotating planet Earth and the sun shining in the camera's lens. Suddenly, we see golden letters of the company's name zooming out and flying around the globe, as we pan to the left. After the letters finish rotating, they pair up together, and reveal the word "DONNERS'" (all in capital letters). The words "THE" and "COMPANY" (also in capital letters) appear on the upper-left hand side, and the lower-right side of the main text, respectively. Also, the "O" in "DONNERS'" absorbs the sun, and has a rainbow-like color around the letter.

Variants:

  • On She's the Man, the logo is still.
  • On Legion and The Gifted, the logo shares the screen with the Bad Hat Harry Productions and Kinberg Genre logos.

Technique: CGI animation.

Music/Sounds: A light, smooth synth-guitar arpeggio layered with low electric piano chords which changes notes throughout, ending in a short orchestral note. Like the last logo, this logo pays homage to their film Ladyhawke, and this logo theme is actually a snippet of the opening theme to the film, composed by Andrew Powell and performed by Alan Parsons.

Availability: Like before, rare. It only appeared at the end of 16 Blocks, She's the Man, and Unaccompanied Minors. Also seen on the TV shows Legion and The Gifted.
