Background

Tern TV is a Scottish and Northern Irish television production company. In November 2017, Zinc Media Group acquired the company.

1st Logo (19 November 2008-18 March 2021)

Visuals: On a dark blue background with multi-colored bokeh lights, the word "Tern" in white appears with a stylised, T-like figure inside a white circle. Copyright info is below.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the logo is in-credit.
  • The logo would often sometimes also share the screen with other logos.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: None or the ending theme of the show.

Availability: It appeared on episodes of The Beechgrove Garden from this period, which can be found on DVD releases of said series. Some other programs that have this logo include The Harbour, Emergency Helicopter Medics, and a few Real Crime episodes from the late 2000's such as "The Tesco Bomber".

2nd Logo (1 April 2021-)

Visuals: The redesigned T-like figure from before is seen animating with "TERN" and the Zinc Media byline fading in below.

Variants:

  • A still version exists.
  • Sometimes, the logo is in-credit.
  • The logo would often share the screen with other logos.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: None or the ending theme of the show.

Availability: It first appeared on series 43 of The Beechgrove Garden and newer seasons of said series. It also appears on Mrs. Thatcher vs The Miners and Dolly The Sheep That Changed the World. Like before, their programs can be viewed on streaming websites, notably SBS On Demand.
