Background

Telecom Entertainment, Inc. was a production company owned by Benton & Bowles and formed by Michael Lepiner in 1981. The company went defunct when Lepiner died in 1989.

1st Logo (April 27, 1982-April 17, 1988)

Visuals: Superimposed in the credits is the text:

TELECOM
ENTERTAINMENT, INC.

The "O" was represented by segmented lines inside, which resemble a TV tube.

Variants:

  • Depending on the film, the logo would be either in yellow, white or red.
  • Sometimes, the logo is shown on a black background.
  • Starting in 1987, the logo was on a red background.
  • Sometimes, it shares the screen with other logos, and a copyright info is shown below.
  • The logo may sometimes appear without the segmented lines.
  • Most of the time, the text reads either "A Production of" or "In association with" above the logo.

Audio: The end theme of the program.

Availability: Most of Telecom's movies are hard to find. Seen on Shocktrauma, Born Beautiful, Murder in Coweta County, The Gift of Love: A Christmas Story, Living Proof: The Hank Williams Jr. Story, The Best Legs in Eighth Grade Anastasia: The Mystery of Anna, and The Attic: The Hiding of Anne Frank, among others. DVD prints of the latter plaster it with the 3rd Granada logo. It was also seen on Reader's Digest Lifetime and Washingtoon.

2nd Logo (November 27, 1988)

Visuals: On a black-blue gradient background is the Telecom logo in metallic gold with a shining effect. A globe then zooms out and rotates within the "O", which then turns into the same segmented lines from the previous logo.

Technique: Analog computer animation.

Audio: The end theme of the TV movie.

Availability: Only seen on In the Line of Duty: The FBI Murders.
