Background

Takara Tomy is a Japanese entertainment company, founded in March of 2006 by the merger of rival companies Tomy and Takara. Currently they own the licenses to the internationally-known franchises Beyblade, Bakugan, Transformers, Zoids, Choro-Q and Pretty Rhythm. Their products largely target toys, games and other multimedia products.

Logo (2006-)

Visuals: There is a rounded blue rectangle over a white background. Two lines are shown emerging from the left and soon reveal to be two T's, while the rest of the letters "AKARA" and "OMY" spread out from the side, shifting between blue/transparent/white colors. This reveals the text "TAKARA TOMY" in two lines, both in their corporate fonts; the text glows and turns into the plain logo.

Variants:

  • The logo is warp-speed on most commercials by the company.
  • Starting in 2011, the logo is in 16:9 widescreen.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: A rising synth note, followed by the female voice of "Takara Tomy" and two other synth notes.

Audio Variants: On most Japanese commercials by them, it's cut-short to the last two notes.

Availability: This can be seen on various late-2000s era licensed videogames including Naruto Shippuden: Dragon Blade Chronicles and Toshinden and it is also seen on Tomica/Plarail promotional DVDs; The warp-speed variant also made its appearance in several Japanese commercials and made surprise appearance on McDonald's exclusive promotional DVD for Ania.
