Background

THQ Studio Australia was founded in Brisbane in 2003 and was known for developing titles based on Nickelodeon licenses. In 2011, they were working on a game based on the Marvel movie The Avengers. The game was ultimately cancelled and the studio itself closed in August.

1st Logo (September 13, 2004-November 22, 2007)

Nickname: "Mosaic Australia"

Logo: The THQ logo zooms out as many red square dots come in from the left. They surround the logo in the form of the Australian continent, and change their color to white. Then, the continent bursts and all the dots fly around the THQ logo before coming back. The words "studioaustralia" below and "developed by" above appear, and the bottom text shines. 2 dots remain red, marking the studio's hometowns: Brisbane and Melbourne.

FX/SFX: The dots' movement in CGI.

Music/Sounds: Computer "ping" sounds and a noise as the logo forms.

Availability: First seen on Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Attack of the Twonkies. Also appeared on SpongeBob SquarePants: Lights, Camera, Pants!, the PSP release of SpongeBob SquarePants: The Yellow Avenger, Avatar: The Last Airbender and Avatar: The Burning Earth.

Editor's Note: None.

2nd Logo (October 13, 2008-November 26, 2010)

Logo: We see a cube made of small white cubes, which vibrates as a red color flashes through the random cubes inside. The cube explodes, and ribbons, colors and various arcade characters appear and fly around. Then, they are sucked back with the remains of the cube. The THQ Australia logo appears, mostly the same but with a glowing black outline.

Variant: On The Last Airbender for Wii, the whole logo turns into ice at the end.

FX/SFX: The cube blowing up and forming the logo.

Music/Sounds: Several popping sounds, then party horns and arcade machine sounds. When it reverts back to normal, a quiet "wop!" is heard.

Availability: Seen on Avatar: Into the Inferno, The Last Airbender for Wii and Megamind games for various platforms.

Editor's Note: None.

3rd Logo (2011)

Logo: Same as the then-current THQ (and all of its internal studios) logo with the brand name "Studio Australia" below.

FX/SFX: Same as the THQ logo.

Music/Sounds: Same as the THQ logo.

Availability: Only appeared on the trailers for The Avengers game. Unfortunately, the game was cancelled.

Editor's Note: Same as the THQ logo.
