Background

This was the production company of Steven Levitan, founded in 1994. It was renamed to Levitan Productions in 2022.

1st Logo (March 4, 1997-January 11, 2006)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a boxed live-action clip of a man and the little boy playing together. The man (believed to be the father) suspends the boy up in the air for about two seconds and brings him down and repeats it once again. The company name (in a serif font; with "Productions" being abbreviated as "Prods.") is seen below with "in association with", all in white text.

Trivia: The video in the logo likely featured Steven Levitan's father and the young version of Steven himself. Notice that this logo came from an old memory shot on old film, which took place between 1965-1968.

Variant: On some shows, the text "in association with" is absent.

Technique: A digital graphic with live-action clip.

Audio: A nine-note clarinet tune, composed by John Adair, Steve Hampton and Korban Kraus; followed by a child giggling. Original airings used a generic theme, sometimes with an announcer.

Audio Variants:

  • On Oliver Beene, a different five-note clarinet tune is heard with the same giggling sound, which ends in a guitar strum.
  • On Just Shoot Me, the closing theme of the show plays over it.

Availability: Seen on Just Shoot Me, Stark Raving Mad, Oliver Beene and Stacked.

2nd Logo (September 26, 2012-April 8, 2020)

Visuals: On a white background, there is a vertical filmstrip containing the same clip from the previous logo on the left side of the screen. Next to it is the company name, albeit in a black font that resembles Gill Sans Condensed; with "PRODS." being located below "STEVEN LEVITAN". The company name is slightly turned to the left.

Technique: Computer animation with live-action clip.

Audio: The sound of a film reel rolling.

Audio Variant: On LA to Vegas, the closing theme of the show plays over it.

Availability: Seen on Modern Family (starting with the fourth season) and LA to Vegas.
