Background

Shine Group is a conglomerate of media companies, including 29 of them in Europe, North America and Australia. It was created in 2001 on the base of Shine Productions, that was launched in the same year by Elisabeth Murdoch (daughter of the News Corporation owner Rupert Murdoch). In 2011, News Corp. bought Shine Group for $663 million. In December 2014, 21st Century Fox merged Shine with Endemol to form Endemol Shine Group (now Banijay Group.)
