Sega (Commercial Tags)

From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the registered trademark symbol would be absent from the Sega logo.
  • The logo would sometimes be still.
  • Whenever this tag would appear at the end of a commercial sponsoring a campaign, some campaign information would appear at the bottom

Technique: A mix of live-action and analog computer effects.

Audio: The classic "SEEEEEGA!" choir.

Availability: Seen on Japanese commercials for Mega Drive games by the company during this period.

2nd Tag (1991-1993)

Visuals: On a white background, a stop-motion Sonic jumps around, revealing the Sega logo. He then stops jumping and settles next to it on the left and does a Vanna White-style pose.

Availability: Seen on Japanese commercials for Sonic games by the company during this period.

3rd Tag (Early-1990s)

Visuals: There are multiple blue sparkles all over the screen, which merge to form the Sega logo (the same one as before, but with a thinner outline). This animation appears over a different shot of a Mega Drive console and controller, this time on a black-gray floor.

Variant: The positioning of the console and the logo would vary.

Technique: A mix of live-action and analog computer effects.

Audio: Same as the previous tag.

Availability: Seen on Japanese commercials by the company during this period.
