Background

Sastra Film is a Cambodian media production company, involved in television production, films, music and commercials. Founded in 2015 by Bun Channimol, today Sastra Film is one of the most popular production companies in Cambodia.

1st Logo (2016-2017)

Visuals: A drawing of a purple speech bubble stylized like a film camera with "[" inside. "SASTRA" in purple is seen below and "FILM" is seen to the upper right side above "SASTRA".

Technique: A still, digital grapic.

Audio: None or the opening theme.

Availability: Seen on Papa and several music videos.

2nd Logo (2017)

Visuals: Over a dark gray backdrop, multiple purple balls appear and line up to form the logo from before, which slowly zooms out.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A dreamy synthesized theme with a whoosh at the end.

Availability: Appears on television series produced by the company such as ទឹកភ្នែកកក, as well as several music videos.

3rd Logo (November 25, 2017-)

Visuals: Superimposed over the opening credits, a stylized pink bird shape is seen with a pile of filmstrips embedded in it. The filmstrip at the front is colored white. Below is "SASTRA FILM".

Later Variant: Starting in 2022, the logo is animated. The filmstrips are seen first, followed by the pink bird shape emerging out of nothing, swirling around the filmstrips.

Technique: A still, digital graphic. CGI for the animated version.

Audio: None or the opening theme.

Availability: First seen on the mini-series The Man, produced for Ford Cambodia. This is still used on television series and "Life Film" (television films) aired on Bayon TV.

4th Logo (2023-)

Visuals: A man is seen reading a manuscript while sitting on a temple. Khmer letters in gold rises out of the manuscript and fly into the temple walls behind him as the camera follows. The Khmer letters shine and form the Sastra Film logo on the walls, animating the same way as before.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A peaceful theme with chirping birds and bell sounds.

Availability: May be seen on trailers and feature films from the company such as The Dark Mother
