Salon Films

From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

1st Logo (2000s?)

Visuals: On a white background, there is a head of what appears to be a smiling boy, which is contained inside of a ring with a dotted border and gold text inside reading "SALON FILMS", slowly zoom in from what seems to be the center of the screen, with the text slowly rotating counter-clockwise until the image stops zooming. A white dove then comes up from what appears to be the bottom-right of the screen, seeming to “move” by zooming out diagonally to the left until it "picks up" the logo on its back and continues "moving" for approximately six seconds before stopping. Red Nepali text "Salon Films (Pvt.) Ltd." then appears underneath the dove disappears before a second string of Nepali text appears and disappears in the same fashion.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: As the company logo zooms in, a pitch-shifted version of the second ERA Home Video logo's audio plays. When the dove is carrying the logo, a short harp tune is heard before a pitch-shifted version of the audio for the third logo of Columbia Tristar Home Entertainment plays once the dove stops moving and the text appears. A descending "woosh" sound also plays by the end of the logo.

Availability: Seen on at least one film, which is Mann.

Legacy: This logo is infamous for its quality and stolen audio.

2nd Logo (January 5, 2005)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a red triangle with a blue ray of light inside of its opening. The triangle transforms into the same red ring as 2 thin gold rings to form the same ring described above but without the dots, and the text "SALON FILMS" in an arched 45 degree angle zooms towards the ring, with the ring slowly zooming away as the action happens. While at it, a silhouette of a circle zooms in from the top portion of the screen, and a different picture of the smiling boy fades in front of the circle as the text stops zooming, followed by it zooming towards the center of the red ring. A CGI render of the white dove fades in below the ring afterwards, forming a CGI render of the company's logo.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The opening theme of the movie.

Availability: Seen on at least one film, which is Agneepath.

3rd Logo (October 26, 2009)

Visuals: On a black background, a white circle with a multi-colored border zooms in from the center of the screen, where we can also see a cropped render the company's logo zooming in inside of it as the circle stops zooming. The logo then stops zooming, as the Nepali text "Salon Films Presents" in white fades in underneath.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: A fragment of the first logo's soundtrack, which segues to the movie's title card.

Availability: Seen on at least one film, which is Jangabaaz.

4th Logo (October 25, 2013)

Visuals: On a white background is the same company logo zooming yet again, as a set of black Nepali text fades in front of the logo, and places itself at the bottom of the screen. The company's logo then zooms towards the top-left of the screen.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: A harp glissando with the sounds of twinkling, along with a faint gong sound effect when the company's logo stops zooming.

Availability: Seen on at least one film, which is Karnabir.
