Background

SKET was a local TV station headquartered in Kramatorsk, Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine. It was founded on December 17, 1990 and would broadcast across the oblast. In 2005, the channel would switch to cable broadcasting and in August 2021, it would cease all broadcasting operations due to a license revocation.

1st ID (1994-1996)

Visuals: The sequence starts with multiple images and videos which are shown in this order:

  • A solar-powered satellite in space zooming towards the camera
  • A zoom-in shot of a blue-tinted night city skyline
  • The same satellite video shown before
  • A computer-generated rainbow web vortex that dissolves and morphs into the aforementioned city skyline video
  • A gold low-poly CG bird flying in a void of blue marbled squares
  • An unidentifiable 3D yellow netted object zooming out then back in accompanied with a color-changing flower-like shape jumping and leaping across a psychedelic blue-cyan background with flat 2D navy triangles spinning on the top and bottom.
  • The same satellite video from the first and third sequences
  • A blond-haired man working at a TV headquarters
  • Aerial video footage of a TV headquarters (possibly Sket's headquarters)
  • The same video of the man in the TV operating room
  • Two green wavy lines rotating and merging to form a circle, which zooms out to the top center before a light blue circle fades inside and glows as the green circle fades out
  • A blue rectangle that expands and flies to the bottom of the screen whilst leaving a trail
  • The camera zooming in to the station's logo with what appears to be a otherworldly landscape imposed inside of it
  • The same footage of the 3D bird flying from the 5th sequence
  • The same golden bird from before (now animated in 2D) flying on the left of the screen in front of a human face who blinks and looks to the bird
  • A black background with blue streaks rotating and turning, with the bird flying towards the bottom right of the screen
  • A human face with a magenta tint and heavy video feedback with the bird from before flying from the top-left corner to the bottom-right corner

The feedback on the final video sequence "zooms out", forming a vortex-like effect around the face. As this is happening, the human moves their eyes, following the direction of the bird before closing their eyes as the bird flies offscreen. The face zooms in and fades out as another vortex of whitish-yellow lines zooms in, accompanied with a glassy rainbow square surrounded by a blue glow. The square zooms in before the company logo, consisting of the orange word "СКЭТ" partially enclosed in an oval and the letters "КЭТ" being conjoined choppily zooms in before zooming out in a similar choppy manner. Behind the logo is a smoky grayish-white background.

Technique: A mix of CGI, live action, 2D chyron animation and digital effects.

Audio: A synth-Europop song that ends with an echoed voice whispering the channel name.

2nd ID (1996-1997?)

Visuals: The sequence starts with the satellite and rainbow vortex-city clips from the previous ident, with the addition of a thick blue border surrounding the video. Both the border and video footage fade out, to which a 14x16 grid appears. Then, video footage from eleven different programs that air on SKET appear with a color-changing border, superimposing over the grid. Each clip plays in a different aspect ratio and takes up only part of the screen. The eleventh clip of the network's program (which has a blue border) zooms out to the left, being the only clip in the sequence that animates. Said clip is followed by an oversaturated video of a CRT displaying an image of an evening sunset background with the company logo in mahogany sliding from right to left in a choppy manner over the setting (likely a previous ident from the station). The clip in question is shown to have a magenta border and takes up only part of the left side. After that, the face and bird footage seen towards the end of the previous ident plays, which takes over much of the screen and is surrounded by a blue border. The aforementioned video zooms out and disappears from view, then the screen zooms into the grid and pans upwards. The grid changes from black to light blue as what appears to be an early morning shot of a coast with mountainous terrain in the distance appears in the background. Once the grid places itself in a horizontal position, blending in with the background setting and only displaying the vertical lines from the grid, the network's logo in purple choppily zooms in.

Technique: Analog computer animation and chyron effects for the clips.

Audio: A portion of Special Delivery by Parry Music.

3rd ID (1997?)

Visuals: The sequence, set on a nighttime setting, starts with the camera pans to the left and places itself in between two rows of glowing lights. In the distance is a city skyline, which the camera zooms towards as it rises. Then, an orange translucent sphere flies from the bottom-right of the screen and zig-zags towards and away from the center thrice before stopping in the center. A "wave" effect occurs from the sphere, which transitions into a space background with a closeup of a blue CRT screen on its side. Once the image is in full view, the company logo in purple appears over the screen via the same wave effect.

Technique: CGI and Grass Valley 300 production switcher effects.

Audio: A deep synth whoosh followed by a short, bubbly synth tune.
