Regan Jon Productions

Background

This was the vanity card of Ralph Farquhar, who would later go on to form Bar Productions with Bruce W. Smith. It was named after his son, the rapper Busdriver (real name Regan John).

Logo (January 23, 1996-June 16, 2006)

Visuals: Against a concrete background with thick faded diagonal dark brown stripes is the text "ReGaN JoN" in a grungy typewriter font. The word "P R O D U C T I O N S" quickly slides up underneath the text on the right, causing both of them to bounce a little. Throughout the entire logo, "we/r/u" is seen in the background flattening in 3 frames, starting over each time in an endless cycle. The logo also has light old film effects. Sometimes, "in association with" fades in below.

Variants:

  • On a preview video of Second Time Around, the logo is still and also widescreen.
  • On Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior, it appears to play slightly slower.

Technique: 90s computer animation.

Audio: A creepy 6 note hip-hop theme or the end theme of the show. On Dance 360, a different hip-hop theme was used.

Availability: Seen on earlier episodes of The Parkers on BET and the movie Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior on Disney Channel. Also appeared on the first two seasons of Moesha on Pluto TV and DVD, the short lived sitcom Second Time Around, and the hip-hop television series Dance 360.
