Background

Red Mile Entertainment was a video game developer and publisher based in Sausalito, California. Founded in August 2004, the company's first major publishing deal involved the US rights for Australian developer IR Gurus Interactive's Heroes of the Pacific, which prompted Red Mile to also purchase the studio itself and rename it as Transmission Games.

In May 2007, Red Mile acquired the game license rights to the Sin City graphic novel by Frank Miller, and in June announced Jackass: The Game (based on the popular MTV franchise) in cooperation with Transmission Games and MTV, which was released in September that year. In March 2008, the company reorganized to reduce operating costs. Three months later however, the entire company was acquired by SilverBirch Studios and laid dormant despite receiving a $735,000 bridge loan.
