Pornhub

Background

Pornhub is a Canadian-owned pornographic website founded in 2007, and headquartered on Limassol, Cyprus. One of the several pornographic websites owned by Mindgeek, Pornhub also has its own premium production unit known onscreen as Pornhub Premium Original Production.

Logo (2014-)

Visuals: Over a black background, the orange word "REC" with a blinking dot to the left of it is seen. The text "flips" into a graphic of a laptop. An orange circle rises up on the laptop screen, followed by a black cursor overlapping it. The laptop flips away as the circle and cursor merge into an orange play button which gets inverted in color. A smaller cursor then appears clicking it, after which the Pornhub logo forms (the word Pornhub with the word hub encased in an orange rounded rectangle, similarly to the YouTube logo) with "community" popping up letter by letter below.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: A drum riff with a quiet bass backing. This is sampled from the library track "Beats Me" by Audio Network

Availability: Appears on virtually every non-premium Pornhub video.

Legacy: One of the most iconic logos of the adult entertainment industry, to the point where it has become an Internet meme.
