Background

Partisan Pictures is a TV film company founded by Peter Schnall in 1996. The company mainly produces documentary films.

1st Logo (1996-2000s)


Visuals: First in the shot is a gray gradient background which zooms out to reveal it's the fill of a lime-colored "P"'s counter with "PARTISAN", in white and with a shadow effect, aligned to its stem against a black box and underneath "PICTURES" in white, which is also in a black box. The background is also lime-colored.

Variants:

  • On Inside the US Secret Service, the logo is smaller on a black screen with the following text underneath:
    A PARTISAN PICTURES PRODUCTION
    IN ASSOCIATION WITH
    NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC TELEVISION & FILM
    FOR NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC CHANNEL
  • Split-screen versions of this logo would have a National Geographic copyright stamp underneath.

Technique: Motion-controlled animation.

Audio: A jazz tune or the ending theme of the program.

Availability: This was spotted on TV airings of The Story of America, Inside The US Secret Service, and Discovery Channel airings of In Search of Liberty Bell.

2nd Logo (2000s-)


Visuals: The logo consists of a white box containing a gray burst cut in three pieces with a blue star on the bottom center and "PARTISAN PICTURES" underneath slowly zooming in on a black background.

Technique: Zooming effects.

Audio: The ending theme of the program.

Availability: It is seen on several programs produced by the company such as The White House: Inside Story.
