Background

In 1996, Pack-In-Video was sold to Victor Interactive Software, and decided to rename the label as Pack-In-Soft. The brand continued for a few more years until 2000.

1st Logo (1997-2000)

Visuals: Same as the fourth Pack-In-Video logo, except "SOFT" replaces "VIDEO" and is in a different font.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the text is white.
  • On Sega Saturn and PlayStation games, the text, here in black, is shown over a marble background.

Technique: A still, sprite-based graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Mainly seen on Game Boy Color titles of the era, such as Kawa no Nushi Tsuri 4. Also appears on a few PlayStation and Sega Saturn titles.

2nd Logo (October 23, 1997-June 25, 1998)


Visuals: On a black background, "PACK-IN-SOFT" fades in with an underline, below having "Victor Interactive Software Inc." in a narrow font.

Variants:

  • On Downhill Snow, the background is white.
  • On Hyper Securities 2, the text is white and set over a blurry green/yellow city background.

Technique: A still, sprite-based graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen mainly on Sega Saturn titles and a few PlayStation games, including Steep Slope Sliders and Nile Kawa no Yoake.
