Background

Nintendo Software Technology Corporation was an American-based developer that was formed in 1998 in collaboration between Nintendo and DigiPen Institute of Technology, to develop games that was specially designed for the North American market, based in Redmond. The first game was Bionic Commando: Elite Forces for the Game Boy Color.

Logo (January 26, 2000- )

Visuals: Over a black background is the standard Nintendo logo. Below it was the text "Software Technology Corporation".

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the logo is in blue instead.
  • Sometimes, the background is white.
  • An earlier version exists where the text is stacked and in white.
  • On Wave Race: Blue Storm, the logo is shown underwater.
  • On Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt, the logo fades in first followed by the rest of the name. Both fade out afterwards.

Technique: A still, sprite-based graphic.

Audio: None or the opening theme of the game.

Availability: Seen on many games developed by Nintendo Software Technology, beginning with Bionic Commando: Elite Forces. It was also seen on Crystalis for Game Boy Color, Ridge Racer 64 for Nintendo 64, Mario vs. Donkey Kong for Game Boy Advance, and Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis for Nintendo DS, among others.
