Logo (February 12-27, 1994)

Visuals: This opening consists of two separate sequences:

  • Opening: There are the Northern Lights on a starry sky. Then a flag carrying the Lillehammer '94 logo appears. The screen fades into an ice floor which opens to reveal the pictograms for the 10 out of the 15 sports features in the Games. Then, the scenery changes to ten men resting in the pictograms and use a trampoline for a man. The man jumps into the trampoline and turns into a skier ready to jump. The skier later traverses from a ribbon and later through the man. Later, eight men carry a white flag to reveal a hockey stadium map. Then, two speed skaters run around the ribbon, two men use bobsled to ride on it and finally two speed skaters spin around. Then, the '94 Winter Olympic torch is seen with the Olympic Flag fading to the right. Six men later split from the flag and zooms a bit closer before fading to black.
  • Closing: A torchbearer later gives the torch to a man. The torch later closes up into a picture of the 10 out of the 15 sports features in the Games. Then the scenery changes to 10 men carrying torches and then a man jumps over a snowball. Some of the Winter Olympic sports features are seen in the ribbons. Then, the torch closeup from before turns to the left side revealing the Lillehammer '94 logo. A wordmark for the organisation and a copyright notice for the IOC is later shown below of the screen.

Technique: A mix of live-action, traditional animation and CGI.

Audio: Epic orchestra music.
